    Entehep 1Mg contains its active substance called Entecavir. Entecavir is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection. It is a guanine nucleoside analogue. It is used in compensated and decompensated liver diseases.

    Entehep 1Mg is used to treat adults and children above 2 years of age who are infected by Hepatitis B virus. Entehep 1Mg should not be taken separately if you are HIV positive. Entehep 1Mg can be taken with other anti-HIV medications. Entehep 1Mg can be used in cases with compensated and decompensated liver diseases.

It competes with deoxyguanosine triphosphate and entecavir triphosphate inhibits all functions of HBV polymerase which is required for replication of virus. Thus, treats HBV infection.

                    Upto 30 kgs – 0.5mg/d

    Entehep 1Mg used in children above 2 years of age or 10 Kgs of weight in pre-exposed cases, the dosage is doubled.

    Entehep 1Mg can be taken with other antiretrovirals as prescribed by the physician without fail. These drugs must be taken with or without food on a regular time basis.

     


    Use of Entehep 1mg Tablet in Elderly Patients

    If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.

    The recommended dosage of Entehep 1Mg in compensated liver disease is 0.5mg/d in naïve cases

    The recommended dosage of Entehep 1Mg in compensated liver disease is 1mg/d in pre-exposed cases

    The recommended dosage of Entehep 1Mg in decompensated liver disease is 1mg/d

    Entehep 1Mg can be taken with other antiretrovirals as prescribed by the physician without fail. These drugs must be taken with or without food on a regular time basis.


    Other general warnings

    • Skin reactions - It can be mild to severe like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
    • New onset diabetes mellitus or hyperglycemia – Monitor blood glucose and insulin levels.
    • Lactic acidosis
