Non-Hodgkins leukemia

Mechanism of action of Cyclophosphamide


Cyclophosphamide is an anti-cancer medication and Alkylating agent. It produces its action by causing intra- and inter-strand crosslinks between DNA bases causing a break in DNA strand thus apoptosis is induced which results in cell death of abnormal DNA containing cancer cells.

Busulfan

Digoxin

Warfarin

Myelosuppression

Cyclophosphamide should not be administered in patients whose neutrophil count is less than 1,500/mm3. The use of this medicine may cause myelosuppression, bone marrow failure, and severe immunosuppression which leads to developing septic shock and sepsis

Urinary tract obstruction
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with cystitis because the use of cyclophosphamide itself may produce hemorrhagic cystitis, pyelitis, and hematuria.

Cardiotoxicity

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cyclophosphamide will cause cardiotoxicity includes myocarditis, myopericarditis, pericardial effusion, and congestive heart failure.

Liver diseases

Over Dose:
