It is found from Punjab to the hills of
Garo, Khasi, West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. It
grows up to an altitude of 1,700 m in tropical Himalayan, Northeast and Central
India, and West Bengal
It is a deciduous tree with dark brown
color bark. The leaves of this tree are simple, alternate which is 10-30 cm
long and 5-28 cm broad. Fruits are 1-1.5cm large and ovoid and the plant
usually grows at a height of 30-35 m. The flower and fruit starts appear in
April to May
