- It must be taken at the same time once a day as prescribed by your physician.
- It should be taken without food either 1 hr before food or 2 hrs after food intake
- It must be swallowed as a whole.
- Don’t chew or crush the tablet.
- It must be taken with prednisolone.
- After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less than the prescribed dose or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing the Abstet dose without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

Medical Description of Abstet 250mg Tablet
Abstet 250mg Tablet contains its active substance called Abiraterone acetate. It is a CYP17 inhibitor. It is not recommended in paediatric and women. It is used in the treatment of metastasised prostate cancer. It is an anti-testosterone medication used with prednisolone. It is used in cases that have not responded to chemotherapy.

Abstet 250mg is a CYP17 inhibitor also called an adrenal inhibitor used in the treatment of prostate cancer that has metastasised in adults. It acts as an anti-testosterone medication. It is used in the treatment of prostate cancer who have been failed to be treated with chemotherapy. It is not used in children and women.

Abiraterone acetate can be used in treating androgen dependant prostate cancer. It reduces serum testosterone and progesterone levels. The visible decline in PSA levels is seen with the use of Abiraterone acetate in the treatment of chemo-resistant metastatic prostate cancer. In other words, It treats prostate cancer by inhibiting testosterone formation and decreases serum testosterone levels.

Very Common side effects that occur in more than 1:10 patients: co-infections, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, eczema, fatigue, hypertension, bleeding disorders, diarrhoea, constipation, rash, thinning of hair, body ache, headache, hypophosphatemia, increase in serum amylase and lipase enzymes

Serum concentration is decreased by Dexamethasone and other steroids
