Adova 1mg Capsule

Adova 1mg Capsule contains Anastrozole it’s an aromatase inhibitor. It shrinks and stops the progression of abnormal cancer cells. Adova 1mg Capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This medication can be used to treat breast cancer in males when treated with tamoxifen.

Anastrozole acts on breast cells that are stimulated by estrogen receptors causing cancer. Adova 1mg Capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer specially in postmenopausal women. This capsule is not used in children.

Adova 1mg Capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer that has expressive estrogen receptors. It is recommended only in adults.

Adova 1mg Capsule is an aromatase inhibitor and antineoplastic medication. It inhibits the multiplication or proliferation of abnormal breast cells by inhibiting the estrogen receptors. This capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer in post-menopausal women which is metastatic who have positive or negative estrogen receptor.

Adova 1mg (Anastrozole) is an antineoplastic and an aromatase inhibitor. In postmenopausal women, estrogen is derived from an aromatase enzyme that converts adrenal androgens to estrone and estradiol. Anastrozole is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces serum estrogen and its derivatives levels thus signalling processes for the proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. Anastrozole shrinks the abnormal cells and minimises metastasis thus treats and controls cancers or tumors.

Anastrozole is an antineoplastic, antiangiogenic and aromatase inhibitor. It inhibits estrogen receptors thus the signalling process for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. It minimises the growth of abnormal cancer cells and terminates metastasis of tumors or cancers.

Absolute contraindication:

• if you are allergic to Adova 1mg (Anastrozole 1mg) Capsule or its constituents
• if you are pregnant
• if you are breastfeeding

Relative contraindication:

• if you have an endocrine disorder
• if you have a heart disorder
• if you have a bone disorder
• if you have cholesterol disorder

Common side effects that occur 1:10 patients: Hot flashes, Vasodilation, Fatigue, Mood disturbances, Nausea and vomiting, Weakness, Arthritis, Pain, Arthralgia, Pharyngitis, Depression, Hypertension, Bone pain, cough, Osteoporosis, Rash

Uncommon side effects that occur 1:100 patients: Back pain, Fracture, Headache, Insomnia, Peripheral edema, Dyspnea, Abdominal pain, Infection, Lymphedema, Diarrhea, Constipation, Breast pain, Dizziness, Urinary tract infection, Chest pain, Dyspepsia, Paresthesia, Anxiety, Cataracts, Sinusitis, Vulvovaginitis, Xerostomia,

Rare side effects that occur 1:1,000 patients: Breast neoplasm, Bronchitis, Cyst, Diaphoresis, Vaginal bleeding, Ischemic cardiovascular disease, Vaginal hemorrhage, Vaginitis, Leukorrhea, Deep vein thrombosis, Endometrial cancer, Ischemic cerebrovascular event, Weight gain, Lethargy, hepatitis, anaphylaxis, hypercalcemia

Is Adova 1mg (Anastrozole 1mg) Capsule safe during pregnancy?

No, taking Adova 1mg Capsule during pregnancy is not recommended thus inform your physician if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant

Can Adova 1mg Capsule be taken while breastfeeding?

No, in general it is suggested that drugs and their metabolites can pass via breastfeeding thus it is suspected that Adova 1mg Capsule can also pass via breastfeeding.

Can Adova 1mg Capsule be taken while alcohol consumption?

The interaction is unknown but Adova 1mg Capsule causes side effects. Thus, consult your physician.

Can I take a drive or operate heavy machineries while on Adova 1mg Capsule?

Pregnancy

Using Anastrozole during pregnancy may cause embryo-fetal toxicity. Consult your physician.

Breast Feeding

Using Anastrozole during Breastfeeding may cause side effects similar to adults. Consult your physician.

Kidney Problem

Using Anastrozole may lead to renal failure. This therapy monitor kidney functions before and during treatment. Consult your physician.

Liver Disease

During Anastrozole therapy monitor liver function before and during treatment. Consult your physician.

This capsule is taken orally.

This capsule must be taken at the same time once a day as prescribed by your physician.

This capsule should be taken with or without food

This capsule must be swallowed as a whole.

Don’t chew or crush this capsule.

After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less Adova drug than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing Adova dose without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.

This capsule is not recommended in children.

This capsule has only been used in few patients 65 years or older. Dosage and usage are similar to adults. Discuss with your physician before usage.

• Allergic reactions - It can be mild hypersensitivity and angioedema to severe like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
• Hepatotoxicity– monitor function before and during treatment
• Renal toxicity – renal failure. Monitor function before and during treatment.
• Cardiotoxicity – MI
• Bone mineral disorder
• Pregnancy – causes embryo-fetal toxicity
• Breastfeeding – causes side effects similar to adults
• Alcohol intake or Driving or operating heavy machinery – Adova 1mg capsule causes side effects thus caution is required. consult your physician

This capsule is taken orally as a prescribed dosage at a specific time regularly with or without food to avoid adverse effects.

Drug-Drug Interaction

Severity of cardiotoxicity is caused by Arsenic trioxide, Bleomycin, Methotrexate

Severity of Thrombosis is caused by Erythropoietin

Serum concentration increased by Mifepristone, Tamoxifen that causes an increase in adverse effects

Drug-Food Interaction

This capsule should be taken with or without food, there is no restriction to food intake, if doubts arise kindly refer to your physician. To avoid diarrhea, take small sips of sugar-free drinks or take small amounts of a meal or take spicy food with the capsule. This capsule generally causes side effects thus it is advised not to be taken with alcohol. It is preferred to drive or operate heavy machinery with caution.

• Electrolyte disorders – used with caution in electrolyte imbalance. Consult a physician before use
• Liver disorders – used with caution in severe liver diseases. Consult a physician before use
• Kidney disorders – used with caution in severe kidney diseases. Consult a physician before use
• Cardiac disorders – used with caution in heart failure and MI. Consult a physician before use
• Respiratory disorders – used with caution in respiratory distress and interstitial lung disorder. Consult a physician before use
• Endocrine disorder – used with caution in hypo and hyperthyroidism. Consult a physician before use.

Overdosage of this capsule has less literature thus Contact your physician.

You can take the missed dosage if you notice within 12 hours. If it is more than 12 hours, then skip the dosage and take the next doses as usual. Don’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
