    Adova 1mg Capsule contains Anastrozole it’s an aromatase inhibitor. It shrinks and stops the progression of abnormal cancer cells. Adova 1mg Capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This medication can be used to treat breast cancer in males when treated with tamoxifen.


    Adova 1mg Capsule Uses

    Anastrozole acts on breast cells that are stimulated by estrogen receptors causing cancer. Adova 1mg Capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer specially in postmenopausal women. This capsule is not used in children.

    Adova 1mg Capsule is an aromatase inhibitor and antineoplastic medication. It inhibits the multiplication or proliferation of abnormal breast cells by inhibiting the estrogen receptors. This capsule is used in the treatment of breast cancer in post-menopausal women which is metastatic who have positive or negative estrogen receptor.


    Mechanism of action of Adova 1mg Capsule

    Adova 1mg (Anastrozole) is an antineoplastic and an aromatase inhibitor. In postmenopausal women, estrogen is derived from an aromatase enzyme that converts adrenal androgens to estrone and estradiol. Anastrozole is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces serum estrogen and its derivatives levels thus signalling processes for the proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. Anastrozole shrinks the abnormal cells and minimises metastasis thus treats and controls cancers or tumors.


    How Adova 1mg Capsule works

    Anastrozole is an antineoplastic, antiangiogenic and aromatase inhibitor. It inhibits estrogen receptors thus the signalling process for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. It minimises the growth of abnormal cancer cells and terminates metastasis of tumors or cancers.

    Absolute contraindication:

    • if you are allergic to Adova 1mg (Anastrozole 1mg) Capsule or its constituents
    • if you are pregnant

    How to Take Adova 1mg Capsule

    This capsule is taken orally.

    This capsule must be taken at the same time once a day as prescribed by your physician.

    This capsule should be taken with or without food

    This capsule must be swallowed as a whole.

    Don’t chew or crush this capsule.

    After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less Adova drug than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing Adova dose without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

    Severity of cardiotoxicity is caused by Arsenic trioxide, Bleomycin, Methotrexate

    Severity of Thrombosis is caused by Erythropoietin

    Serum concentration increased by Mifepristone, Tamoxifen that causes an increase in adverse effects

    Drug-Food Interaction

    This capsule should be taken with or without food, there is no restriction to food intake, if doubts arise kindly refer to your physician. To avoid diarrhea, take small sips of sugar-free drinks or take small amounts of a meal or take spicy food with the capsule. This capsule generally causes side effects thus it is advised not to be taken with alcohol. It is preferred to drive or operate heavy machinery with caution.

    Over Dose

    Missed Dose

    You can take the missed dosage if you notice within 12 hours. If it is more than 12 hours, then skip the dosage and take the next doses as usual. Don’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
