    Amiswiss 250mg Injection contains Amikacin 250mg used to treat bacterial infections such as Intra-abdominal infection, Pneumonia, Bacteremia, Bone and joint infections, Urinary tract infections, Bacterial meningitis, skin, and soft tissue infections. Mainly this medicine targets infections of the lungs, skin, abdomen, blood, brain, urinary tract, bones, and joints. Amikacin is an antibiotic that helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria and it is mainly used in hospitalized patients to prevent infections. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

    Drug Interaction of Amiswiss 250mg Injection

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Cholera vaccine

    Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

    Cidofovir

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the combination of this medicine may increase nephrotoxicity and Ototoxicity

    Atracurium

    Use alternative drugs because the use of Amikacin increases the effect of atracurium by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk for developing apnea.

    Quinidine

    Use alternative drugs because the use of quinidine will increase the effect of Amikacin by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter.

    Estradiol

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Amikacin decreases the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure.

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of aminoglycoside may lead to nerve damage in the eighth cranial nerve which results in vestibular and auditory toxicities. Symptoms include dizziness, nystagmus, vertigo, ataxia, tinnitus, and hearing impairment.

    Renal dysfunctions

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with renal impairment due to the accumulation of the drug which leads to nephrotoxicity like tubular necrosis, increase in BUN, nonprotein nitrogen, serum creatinine concentration, decrease urine gravity and creatinine clearance, and proteinuria.
