Azbact 250mg Tablet contains Azithromycin it belongs to the group of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Azithromycin is a major class of antibiotics chemically called azalides. Azithromycin is widely used in treating certain bacterial infections like sinusitis, ear pain, and pneumonia. It is found to be a macrolide-type antibiotic.

Azbact 250mg Tablet is contraindicated if the patient has any past allergic history of erythromycin drugs.

After taking Azbact 250mg Tablet if u get any side effects immediately stop the dose and consult your physician for further advice.

Alcohol

• Should not chew or crush the tablet.
• It should be taken with water. With or without food.
• Don't take with fresh juice that may reduce the drug absorption.

• Try to take the medicine at the correct interval of time. An increase in dosage will don't give effective results that may cause double side effects so don't change your dosage as prescribed continue the drug for better results.

Azbact 250mg Tablet is a regular antibiotic against bacterial infections. particularly used for acute respiratory conditions, ear pains, surgical conditions, skin and soft tissue infections, genital sores, and cancer management. It involves blocking protein and kill bacteria. Does not helps in virus diseases. Do not overdose on the tablet and take it according to the prescribed format. Before taking Azithromycin precautions to be taken if having any allergy history cardiac or kidney disease.

Drug-Drug Interaction

• Azithromycin has been found to have interaction with live bacterial vaccines. It will reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. There have been serious side effects on interaction with pimozide.
• Nelfinavir: There can be interaction with Nelfinavir that requires monitoring for any serious reactions of Azithromycin, like hearing disturbances and liver enzyme changes is warned.
• Warfarin: When used with azithromycin it may increase the coagulation time, which needs monitoring prothrombin time.

Drug-Food Interaction

Azithromycin does not interact with food. It can take with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet without crushing or chewing the tablet

Some data suggest presynaptic suppression of acethylcholine release. So, when administrating azithromycin to myasthenia gravis patient caution is needed.

Overdose can cause heavy breathing and leads to a heart attack so inform if you overdose on the tablet and immediately check with your doctor.
