    Bdpazo 200mg Tablet contains Pazopanib 200mg used to treat cancer that occurs in and around joints, muscles, tendons, blood vessels, and organs. It works by inhibiting the enzyme which is responsible for the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. It is not recommended for children.

    It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) and soft tissue sarcomas.

    It is a common type of kidney cancer found in adults. It is caused by obesity, smoking cigarettes, polycystic kidney disease, and some genetic condition. Symptoms include blood in urine, loss of appetite, weight loss, tiredness, and fever.

    Advanced soft tissue sarcomas

    It is a type of cancer that usually develops in the soft tissue of your body that begins in the tissue that connects other body structures. Symptoms include swelling and lumps, and muscle pain.

    The Bdpazo 200mg Tablet is prescribed in the following indications as

    • Advanced renal cell carcinoma
    • Advanced soft tissue sarcoma except for the adipocytic type

     


    Mechanism of action of Bdpazo 200mg Tablet

    Bdpazo 200mg Tablet contains Pazopanib 200mg is an anti-cancer medication, tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It produces its action by targeting several tyrosine kinase proteins which are present on the surface of VEGF receptors, PDGF receptor, FGF receptor, cytokine receptor called as kit, IL 2 receptor, lymphocyte tyrosine kinase receptor, transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor. By inhibiting the function of the above-mentioned receptor, the growth of abnormal cells is inhibited.

    Bdpazo 200mg Tablet contains Pazopanib 200mg is an anti-cancer medication, tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It produces its action by inhibiting the function of tyrosine kinase protein which is present on receptors of vascular or platelet or lymphocyte etc. Thus, alters the function of receptors thereby inhibiting the proliferation and growth of abnormal cells.

    • Hemorrhage, fatal arterial thromboembolic events, and cerebral intracranial hemorrhage were reported
    • Venous thromboembolic events including venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolus were reported
    • Thrombotic microangiopathy, gastrointestinal perforation, and pneumonitis has been reported
    • The use of this medicine may cause hypothyroidism, infection, and proteinuria

    Drug Interaction of Bdpazo 200mg Tablet

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Aluminum hydroxide

    It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of aluminum hydroxide will decrease the effect of pazopanib by increasing its gastric pH.

    Deferiprone

    Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism

    Escitalopram

    Use alternative drugs because the use of escitalopram increases the toxicity of the pazopanib by QTc interval

    Apalutamide

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of apalutamide will decrease the effect of pazopanib by increasing its elimination

    Dexamethasone

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of dexamethasone will decrease the effect of pazopanib by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism

    Dextromethorphan

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of pazopanib increases the level of dextromethorphan by decreasing its metabolism.

    Drug-Food Interaction

    The use of grapefruit juice increases the blood level of Sunitinib and also increases the risk of side effects such as dizziness, confusion, hallucinations, mood changes, insomnia, drowsiness, congestive heart failure, and QT prolongation.

    Bleeding

    Kindly avoid this medicine if you have a history of hemoptysis and cerebral hemorrhage because the use of this medicine increases the risk of bleeding

    Liver dysfunction

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of this medicine may cause severe and fatal hepatotoxicity. No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild hepatic impairment.

    GI perforation

    Kindly avoid this medicine in patients with ovarian cancer because the use of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors may cause GI perforation.

    QT prolongation

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation because the use of this medicine may increase the risk of developing ventricular arrhythmias

    Missed Dose
