    Combilox 250 mg/250 mg Injection contains Ampicillin and Cloxacillin used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, endocarditis, genitourinary tract infections, Gonorrhea, respiratory tract infection, bacterial meningitis. Mainly this medicine targets infections of the lungs, throat, airways, skin and soft tissue, bone, ear, nose, and blood. It is also used to treat wound infection and lungs infection that occurs after surgery. Ampicillin is a penicillin derivative that is effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and helps to kill the bacteriaCloxacillin is a well-known β-lactamase resistant drug of penicillin group drugs active against gram+ve bacterias. The combination of this medicine helps to fight against the infection that is caused by bacteria and it is effective against Staph aureus, Strep pneumoniae, Strep viridans, and Strep pyogenes and also fights against gonococci and against N meningitidis and H influenzae which produces penicillinase.     Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of ampicillin decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic synergism

    Demeclocycline

    Use alternative drugs because the use of demeclocycline decreases the effect of ampicillin by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Mycophenolate

    Use an alternative drug because the combination of this drug either increases the effect of the other by decreasing its renal clearance.

    Aspirin

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine either increases the effect of the other by plasma protein binding competition.

    Chloroquine

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of chloroquine decreases the effect of ampicillin by inhibiting the absorption of GI

    Pantoprazole

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of pantoprazole will decrease the effect of ampicillin by increasing its gastric PH.

    Ethinyl estradiol:

    Hemodialysis:

    During Hemodialysis penicillin antibiotics get removed from the body. So doses should be rescheduled after the dialysis process

    Mononucleosis:

    Ampicillin should not be used in patients with mononucleosis because they develop pruritic erythematous maculopapular skin rash which occurs after 5-10 days of therapy

    Colitis

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having a history of gastrointestinal diseases like colitis, pseudomembranous colitis. Clostridioides dificile-associated diarrhea has been reported while using anti-bacterial drugs.

    Renal dysfunction:

    The serum concentration of beta-lactam antibiotics increases the half-life in a patient with impaired renal functions. Depending upon your renal function dose should be adjusted
