Daruvir 600 tablet is a protease inhibitor. Daruvir 600 tablet is not a cure for HIV infection, it improves immunity that results in longevity of life. Daruvir 600 Tablet Indication

Daruvir 600 (Darunavir (600mg)) tablet is indicated in the treatment of HIV-1 infection that causes AIDS in humans. Daruvir 600 tablet is used with other antiviral medications to boost the immunity of the affected hosts. Daruvir 600 tablet is indicated in ages above 3 years or above 15kgs of body weight.

Mechanism of action of Daruvir 600 Tablet

Daruvir 600 tablet is an HIV-1 protease inhibitor. Protease inhibitors are used as a part of highly active antiviral therapy (HAART) in HIV-infected patients. Daruvir 600 tablet prevents HIV replication by binding to this specific enzyme thus selectively inhibits the cleavage of HIV-1 encoded Gag-Pol polyproteins in cells affected by the virus, thereby preventing the formation of mature virus particles into infectious virions that spreads the infection. Daruvir 600 tablet binds to different sites on the enzyme namely the active site and the surface of one of the flexible flaps in the protease dimer. Daruvir 600 tablet can adapt to changes in the shape of a protease enzyme due to its molecular flexibility thus increasing the efficiency of the medicine against HIV infection.
