Diopan IT Capsule

Diopan IT is a combinational medicine containing pantoprazole 40mg and Itopride 150mg. This combinational medicine is used in the treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and  Peptic ulcer disease. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and anti-ulcer agent that reduces acid secretion in the stomach. Itopride is the prokinetic that works on the upper digestive tract and allows the food to pass through the stomach easily.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions such as Peptic ulcer disease and Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

GERD occurs due to stomach acid frequently flowing backwards direction from the stomach to the oesophagus, which leads to developing heartburn, and acid indigestion. Primarily it can manage lifestyle changes, and use OTC (Over counter) medicines. Also, sometimes need surgery. This medicine is used to treat this backflow acid secretion in the stomach.

Peptic ulcer : 

It is also called a stomach ulcer which usually develops inside the linning of your stomach and upper part of the small intestine. It is caused by bacteria called Helicobacter Pylori, and by regular use of analgesics, and other drugs like Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Symptoms include weight loss, loss of appetite, heartburn, Nausea and vomiting, bloating, dark stool, and abdominal pain.

Diopan IT Capsule is used in the treatment of the following conditions such as Peptic ulcer and Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Diopan IT capsule produces the effects of dopaminergic receptors without causing any release of dopamine. Itopride decreases bowel movement and facilitates gastric emptying. Pantoprazole blocks the acid releasing gastric parietal cell of the stomach. A parietal cell of the stomach contains H+/K+ ATP Pumps which helps in acid secretion. Pantoprazole inhibits acid production by blocking these H+K+ ATP pumps, which results in the blocking of acid secretion.

Kidney Problem

It should be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before the meal as prescribed by the doctor. Take this medicine at a regular interval of time. Drug-Drug Interaction

Ketoconazole

Ketoconazole is used in the treatment of fungal infection as an anti-fungal agent.

This combinational medicine along with the ketoconazole reduces the stomach acid and decreases the absorption of ketoconazole in the body and reduces the blood levels of ketoconazole in the blood levels. Because of this antifungal effect will be reduced.

Methotrexate

Methotrexate along with this combinational medicine may increase the blood levels and side effects of methotrexate. So dose adjustment is needed kindly consult with your doctor.

Atazanavir

This combinational medicine by decreasing the stomach acid levels, pantoprazole may decrease the absorption and reduce the blood levels of atazanavir. Because of this, the medication becomes less effective against HIV.

Erythromycin

Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections. This medicine alters the action of erythromycin. Kindly consult with your doctor.

Tramadol

Nelfinavir

Warfarin

By using this medicine with food should be maintained time gap at least 1 hour before the meals for better effectiveness of the medicine. Pheochromocytoma

Epilepsy

Bone fractures

By using the medicine for a very long period of this time leads the osteoporosis (Bone fracture). To avoid osteoporosis calcium and other vitamin D supplement are given to minimize calcium and vitamin deficiency. Kindly consult with your doctor.

Vitamin B12 deficiency

Hypomagnesemia

By long-term use of this medicine leads to developing hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels), which leads to developing dizziness, shivering, muscle pain, irregular heartbeat, seizures, or fits. Kindly consult with your doctor. Heart problems

For the patients with heart problems, caution should be taken before taking the medicine otherwise leads to heart-related problems such as heart failure, etc which leads to the patient conditions most worsening. Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you take any overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.
