The Distaclor 375mg Tablet contains Cefaclor used to treat conditions like Urinary tract infection, Otitis media, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis, Sinusitis, Skin, and soft tissue infections, and Pyelonephritis and it also used to prevent the infection that occurs during surgery. Cefaclor is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It blocks the bacterial cell wall synthesis which is essential for bacterial growth. Mainly this bacterial infection targets the lungs, nose, ears, skin and soft tissues, kidneys, and urinary tract. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Urinary tract infection, Otitis media, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis, Sinusitis, Skin, and soft tissue infections, and Pyelonephritis

Bacterial infections

Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Estradiol

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Cefaclor will decrease the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also decreases the risk of contraceptive failure

Probenecid

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Cefaclor increases the effect of probenecid by acidic drug competition or renal tubular clearance.

Furosemide

The use of Cefaclor increases the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk for developing nephrotoxicity.
