    Docezap 80mg Injection contains Docetaxel 80mg used to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, head and neck cancer, and prostate cancer. Docetaxel helps to inhibit the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. Do not self administer this medicine.

    • Breast cancer which is locally advanced or metastatic and failure to respond to chemotherapy
    • Non-small cell lung cancer which is locally advanced or metastatic and failure to respond to platinum-based chemotherapy
    • Advanced gastric adenocarcinoma
    • Advanced adenocarcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction
    • Head and neck cancer which is locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma
    • Metastatic Prostate cancer is hormone-based

    • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Docetaxel
    • It is contraindicated to use this medicine in patients with solid tumors, AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma with neutrophils count less than 1,500 cells/mm3

    Drug Interaction of Docezap 80mg Injection

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Apalutamide

    Use alternative drugs because the use of apalutamide will decrease the effect of docetaxel by affecting hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Deferiprone

    Use alternative drugs because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism.

    Amiodarone

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of amiodarone will increase the effect of docetaxel by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter.

    Cannabidiol

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cannabidiol will increase the effect of docetaxel by decreasing its metabolism

    Ketoconazole

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of ketoconazole will increase the level of docetaxel by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Drug-Food Interaction

    Kindly avoid consuming grapefruit juice while you are receiving this medicine it may increase the blood level of docetaxel and also increase the risk of side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, hair loss, muscle pain, weakness, nerve damage, and impaired bone marrow functions.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    Infections

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated in patients with infectious diseases because of their cytotoxic effect it induces myelosuppression.

    Hepatic dysfunction

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment because the use of this medicine may increase the risk of developing hepatotoxicity.

    Myelosuppression

    Therapy should be not be administered in patients who are having a neutrophil count less than 1500/mm3 because docetaxel may induce dose-dependent myelosuppression.

    Eye disorders

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with eye disorders because the use of this medicine may cause cystoids macular edema so before initiating the treatment kindly undergo ophthalmologic examination.

    Edema

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with fluid retention because the use of this medicine may cause severe fluid retention  like peripheral edema, generalized edema, pleural effusion, dyspnea, and abdominal distention


    Over Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.


    Missed Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
