    Medical Description of Douxpan 40mg Tablet

    Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), anti-ulcer agents used to treat stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Erosive Esophagitis, Zollinger-Elllison syndrome. It decreases the stomach acid secretion. It relieves ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, used in combination with antibiotics like amoxicillin and clarithromycin. It reduces stress ulcers and acid secretion during intake of painkillers. Pantoprazole acts on the final step of acid release in the stomach. It should not depends upon the food timings. It should be administered in hospital. Do not take spicy, fatty foods, alcohol, caffeinated drinks or beverage such as coffee, tea, and cola while taking this medicine. Remember try to finish your dinner three hours before going to bed. It needs clinical or hospital settings for administering the injection

    The swelling of oesophagus (muscular tube helps food moves from throat to the stomach) is called Esophagitis. It caused due to excess acid production back flow from stomach to oesophagus. Resulting a condition called Erosive esophagitis; it should irritates and damages the lining of the oesophagus. Pantoprazole is used to suppress the stomach acid secretion and relieves the disease.

    Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

    Mechanism of action of Douxpan 40mg Tablet

    Pantoprazole acts on the final step of gastric acid secretion; it blocks the acid releasing gastric parietal cells of the stomach. The parietal cell of the stomach contains H+/K+ ATP Pumps, which helps in acid secretion. Pantoprazole inhibits acid production by blocking these H+K+ ATP pumps. This action will last up to 24 hours, in between, more pumps will be produced by the stomach, which indicates the need to take the next dose to prevent the acid production in the stomach.


    How Douxpan 40mg Tablet works

    Pantoprazole relieves acid-related ulcers, indigestion and heartburn by decreasing the production of acid secretion in the parietal cells of the stomach. The patient feels better by using Pantoprazole within 2 to 3 days, if symptoms not persisted, may take up to 8 weeks.
