Elithron tablet contains Erythromycin used to treat bacterial infections such as Community-Acquired Pneumonia, Acute Otitis media, Bronchitis, Pertussis, Prophylaxis for Rheumatic fever, Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis, Skin and soft tissue infections, Syphillis, Stomach, and intestinal infections, and Pelvic inflammatory diseases. The use of this medicine effective against infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It produces its effect by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that helps to relieve the symptoms and treat infections. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Don’t break,chew, or crush the tablet

Bacterial infections:

Bacterial infection occurs when bacteria enter your body and start multiplying which may cause tissue damage and make you sick. Mostly it is caused by Staphylococcus and Streptococcus organisms. The bacterial diseases are cholera, bacterial meningitis, tetanus, gonorrhea, pneumonia, and syphilis. Symptoms include fever, chills, and sweats, inflamed lymph nodes, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain

Community-acquired pneumonia

It is a type of pneumonia which usually found in people who are not admitted to the hospital recently. It is caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenza, and Mycoplasma pneumonia. Symptoms include chest pain, cough, shortness of breath, sputum, fever, and abdominal pain.

Syphilis

It is a sexually transmitted disease that usually begins as a painless sore on the genitals, rectum, or mouth. It is caused by bacteria called Treponema pallidum. Symptoms include fever, genital warts, sore throat, inflamed lymph nodes, headache and hair loss, and weight loss.

It is also called pelvic infection. It is an infection of the female reproductive organs that occur in the female upper genital tract. It usually occurs when sexually transmitted bacteria spread via the vagina to the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Symptoms include pain in the pelvic region, abnormal vaginal discharge, uterine bleeding, pain during intercourse, fever, and difficulty in urination.

Pertussis

It is also called Whooping cough, a contagious respiratory tract infection. It is caused by Bordetella pertussis. Symptoms include runny nose, nasal congestion, red, watery eyes, fever, cough, and extreme cough.

Prophylaxis for Rheumatic fever

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Erythromycin

BCG vaccine live

The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Cholera vaccine

Use alternative medicine, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

Antithrombin 111

Use alternative drugs because the use of erythromycin increases the effect of azithromycin by decreasing its metabolism.

Colitis

Myasthenia gravis

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of macrolide antibiotics trigger the symptoms of myasthenia gravis

Liver disease:

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of erythromycin may cause hepatotoxicities like abnormal liver function, hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, necrosis, and hepatic failure.

QT prolongation:

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having a history of bradyarrhythmia, proarrhythmic like uncorrected hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia because the use of erythromycin itself may cause cardiac repolarization and QT interval.
