Fludara 10mg Tablet

Fludara 10mg Tablet contains Fludarabine 10mg used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication by interfering in the DNA and RNA of cancer cells. It is used alone or with a combination. It is not recommended in children.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Chronic lymphatic leukemia

It is a type of blood and bone marrow cancer. The exact cause is unknown but it is assumed that some changes happen in the DNA of blood-producing cells. It progresses more slowly when compared with other leukemia. Symptoms include inflamed lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss, enlarged spleen, fatigue, and frequent infections.

The Fludara 10mg Tablet is prescribed in the following indications as chronic lymphocytic leukemia

Fludara 10mg Tablet contains Fludarabine 10mg is an anti-cancer medication, an antimetabolite. It is a fluorinated nucleotide that is actively dephosphorylated to 2-fluoro-ara-A and it is further phosphorylated by deoxycytidine kinas to 2-fluoro-ara-ATP which produces its action by inhibiting the DNA polymerase alpha, ribonucleotide reductase, and DNA primase which results in inhibition of DNA synthesis and leads to cell death.

Fludara 10mg Tablet contains Fludarabine 10mg is an anti-cancer medication, an antimetabolite. It produces its action by interfering with the growth of DNA and RNA of cancer cells and preventing the growth and multiplication of abnormal cells.

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Fludarabine
• Do not use this medicine along with pentostatin because the combination of this medicine increases the risk of pulmonary toxicity

• When can I plan a pregnancy if I am taking a Fludara 10mg Tablet?

Avoid planning for pregnancy while you are receiving this medicine and also use an effective contraceptive for at least 1 month after taking the last medicine.

If you have experienced muscle cramping, muscle weakness, confusion, vision loss, blindness, seizures, headaches, shortness of breath, swelling of your feet, high blood pressure, tiredness, fainting, tightness in the chest.

• I am experiencing nausea and fatigue. Is this due to the Fludara 10mg Tablet?

Yes, the common side effect of this medicine is nausea and fatigue so it is better to eat more frequent meals to decrease nausea and also avoid foods that are salty, spicy, fatty. Drink plenty of rest and do light exercise to keep yourself active

Alcohol

Driving or operating machinery

Pregnancy

• You have experienced any allergic reaction like rashes and itching
• You have a receiving any concomitant medication and disease
• You develop shortness of breath

Drug-Drug Interaction

Tofacitinib

Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by immunosuppressive effects and it also increases the risk for developing an infection

Dichlorphenamide

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism.

Hydroxyurea

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine increases the risk of myelosuppression

Infections

The use of this medicine is contraindicated in patients who are having the infectious disease because of their cytotoxic effect their induce myelosuppression.

Myelosuppression

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with bone marrow suppression because the use of this medicine induces dose-related myelosuppression, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia

Hemolytic anemia

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with anemia and a history of the hemolytic syndrome because the use of this medicine itself may cause autoimmune hemolytic anemia.

Renal dysfunction

The use of this medicine is not recommended in patients who are with severe renal impairment. The patients with moderate renal dysfunction reduce the dose by 20% and monitor closely.

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.
