This tablet is indicated in cases where chemotherapy have shown no improvement. This tablet is indicated in cases where cancer has EGFR exon 19 or 21 genes mutation expression.

Mechanism of action of Geffy 250mg Tablet

Gefitinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. In general, a tumor growth is aided by epithelial and vascular growth factors that have receptors that signal the requirements for the growth of tumor. The non-small cell lung cancer exhibits EGFR exon 19 or 21 gene mutation by deletion or substitution. These mutations in receptors cause the transformation of normal cells into abnormal cells that uses epithelial growth factor receptors to signal the requirements for growth. It acts on EGFR, the epithelial growth factor receptor and blocks the signalling process thus starves the tumor and prevents growth thereby treats and controls the tumor growth. Thus, this tablet can be used as a monotherapy and first line treatment in non-small cell lung cancer.

    How Geffy 250mg Tablet works

Geffy 250mg Tablet is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the signalling pathway instilled by the epithelial growth factor receptor present on non-small cell lung cancer that possesses EGFR exon 19 or 21 gene mutation. Thus, when the requirements of abnormal cancer cells are not met, it causes them to slow down their progression and spread thus treats and controls non-small cell lung cancer.
