Medical Description of Genmus 100mg Injection
Genmus 100mg Injection contains Bendamustine 100mg used to treat Chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has progressed within six months of treatment with rituximab. It is used alone or in combination with other medications as chemotherapy. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells by damaging the DNA and RNA of cancer cells. It is not recommended in children and adolescents who are below 18 years old.

Chronic lymphatic leukemia
It is a type of blood and bone marrow cancer. The exact cause is unknown but it is assumed that some changes happen in the DNA of blood-producing cells. It progresses more slowly when compared with other leukemia. Symptoms include inflamed lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss, enlarged spleen, fatigue, and frequent infections.
Non-Hodgkins leukemia
It is also known as Non-Hodgkin’s disease, cancer in part of your immune system called the lymphatic system. It occurs when there is a change in the DNA of white blood cells called B lymphocytes. Symptoms include fever, night sweats, weight loss, severe itching, increased sensitivity, and swelling of lymph nodes.

Drug Interaction of Genmus 100mg Injection
Drug-Drug Interaction
Tofacitinib
Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increase the toxicity of the other by immunosuppressive effect and it also increases the risk for developing an infection.
Carbamazepine
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of carbamazepine decreases the effect of bendamustine by affecting its hepatic enzyme metabolism.
Cisplatin
Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism
Ethinyl estradiol
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Ethinyl estradiol increases the effect of bendamustine by decreasing its metabolism
Secobarbital
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of secobarbital increases the effect of bendamustine by increasing its metabolism
Drug-Food Interaction
The use of caffeine may increase the blood level of bendamustine and it also increases the risk for developing side effect that affects your bone marrow. Kindly consult with your doctor if you have experience paleness, fatigue, dizziness, fainting, bleeding, fever, chills, sore throat, body aches, and fever.
Drug-Disease Interaction
Infections
The use of this medicine is contraindicated in patients who are having the infectious disease because of their cytotoxic effect their induce myelosuppression.
Tumor lysis syndrome
After taking the first infusion of this medicine in patients who are with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma may cause acute renal failure, hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia, hyperuricemia, and hyperphosphatemia
Hepatic impairment
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment and it should not be used in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment
Renal impairment
Therapy should be used in patients whose creatinine clearance value is less than 40ml/min
Myelosuppression
Therapy should not be administered in patients whose neutrophil count is less than 1,100/mm3. The use of this medicine may cause myelosuppression, bone marrow failure, and severe immunosuppression which leads to developing septic shock and sepsis
Over Dose
Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.
Missed Dose
Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
