    Ibatkin 400mg Capsule contains Imatinib 400mg used to treat chronic myelocytic leukemia, Gastrointestinal stromal tumor, and acute lymphocytic leukemia by inhibiting the activity of an abnormal protein that signals the cancer cells to multiply and it also helps to stop the growth of cancer cells. It is used in patients whose disease cannot be treated with other medications.

    It is used in the treatment of the following conditions chronic myelocytic leukemia, Gastrointestinal stromal tumor, and acute lymphocytic leukemia.

    Chronic myeloid leukemia:

    It is also called chronic myelogenous leukemia. This cancer occurs in the bone marrow and causes an increase in white blood cells. It occurs due to genetic changes in the stem cells which are produced by the bone marrow. Symptoms include easy bleeding, fever, weight loss, loss of appetite, night sweats, fatigue, and bone pain.

    Acute lymphoblastic leukemia:

    Ibatkin 400mg Capsule contains Imatinib is an anti-cancer medication, tyrosine kinase inhibitor that produces its effect by inhibiting BCR-ABL, PDGFR, and c-Kit kinase containing receptors present on abnormal cells thus the signaling process for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited and it also minimizes the growth of abnormal cancer cells and terminates metastasis of tumors or cancers.

    Drug Interaction of Ibatkin 400mg Capsule

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Dihydroergotamine + Imatinib

    The use of this is contraindicated because the use of Imatinib will increase the effect of dihydroergotamine by affecting patient hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Deferiprone + Imatinib

    Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increase the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism

    Erdafitinib + Imatinib

    Use alternative drugs because the use of erdafitinib will increase the effect of imatinib by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter.

    Acetaminophen + Imatinib

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of imatinib decreases the effect of acetaminophen by decreasing its hepatic clearance

    Drug-Food Interaction

    The use of grapefruit juice increases the blood level of imatinib and also increases the risk of side effects such as dizziness, confusion, hallucinations, mood changes, insomnia, drowsiness, congestive heart failure, and QT prolongation.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    Cardiovascular diseases:

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of multiple kinase inhibitors causes arterial vascular occlusive events, peripheral arterial occlusive events, and ischemic cerebrovascular events.

    Fluid retention:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having fluid retention because the use of multiple tyrosine kinase inhibitors may cause pericardial effusion, pleural effusion, pulmonary edema, and peripheral edema.

    Bone marrow suppression:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with bone marrow suppression because the use of multiple tyrosine kinase inhibitors may cause thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, and neutropenia.

    Hepatic impairment:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. Monitor the patient hepatic function during the treatment.


    Over Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.


    Missed Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
