    Inbec Tablet contains Abacavir 600mg, Dolutegravir 50mg and Lamivudine 300mg. Inbec tablet is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) – 1 infection. Dolutegravir is an integrase strand transfer inhibitor. Lamivudine and Abacavir is a nucleoside analogue. This tablet combination works by reducing the viral load of HIV in your body &  improves your immune system to reduces the risk of conditions associated with HIV infection.

    Inbec tablet is used to treat adults and adolescence above the weight class 40kg only who are infected by HIV-1.

    Inbec tablet is indicated in the treatment of HIV-1 infection that causes AIDS in humans. It boosts the immunity of the affected hosts and is indicated in adults and children above 40kgs. Caution is used in the case of HLA-B5701 allele carriers and hepatitis B virus.


    Mechanism of action of Inbec Tablet 90s Pack

    Inbec tablet combination dolutegravir is a inhibits strand transfer activity of integrase in DNA thus blocks replication of HV-1. Lamivudine is an analogue that is phosphorylated to its active forms lamivudine triphosphate that is incorporated into the nucleotide and inhibits the action of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. Abacavir is an analogue that is phosphorylated to its active forms lamivudine triphosphate that is incorporated into the nucleotide and inhibits the action of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. Thus, the active HIV molecules become inactive and further reproduction and multiplication process is stopped.


    How Inbec Tablet 90s Pack works

     Dolutegravir inhibits the transfer of integrase in DNA and Lamivudine and abacavir incorporates themselves into the DNA thus stops the replication of viral particles. Thereby preventing the formation of mature virus particles into infectious virions that spreads the infection.

    Absolute contraindications:

    Common side effects that occur 1:10 patients: pruritus, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, insomnia, abnormal dreams, depression dizziness, tiredness, changes in LFT and increased creatine kinase, insomnia, Cough, vomiting, abdominal pain or cramps, Rash, alopecia, Arthralgia, Fatigue, malaise, fever, hypophosphataemia, asthenia, alopecia, hyperlactatemia

    Uncommon side effects that occur 1:100 patients: hepatitis, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, joint and muscle pain, Neutropenia and anaemia, thrombocytopenia, hypokalaemia, proximal renal tubulopathy 

    Rare side effects that occur 1:1000 patients: osteonecrosis, Pure red cell aplasia, Lactic acidosis, Peripheral neuropathy, Rhabdomyolysis, pancreatitis, cardiomyopathy, convulsions, rhabdomyolysis, raise in AST and ALT levels

    How to Take Inbec Tablet 90s Pack

    Inbec (Abacavir (600mg) + Dolutegravir (50mg) + Lamivudine (300mg)) tablet is taken with food at regular time.

    Inbec tablet should not be crushed or chewed it must be swallowed.

    After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of Inbec than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing Inbec tablet dose without approval may cause the amount of the virus to increase making the infection more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

    Other general warnings

    • New onset diabetes mellitus or hyperglycemia – Monitor blood glucose and insulin levels. When needed add oral hypoglycemic and insulin
    • Blood disorders Hemophilia, hemolytic anemia
    • Skin reactions - It can be mild to severe like Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
    • Musculoskeletal problems - Osteonecrosis that causes joint stiffness and pain in larger joints like shoulder, hip, and knee

    Over Dose

    Missed Dose

    In general, if you take once a day dosage, the missed single dose of Inbec tablet can be taken within the next 12 hrs, you can take it. If it is more than 12 hrs, skip the dose and take the next dose at the recommended time. Don’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
