Indease capsule contains Indinavir 400mg. Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule is an antiretroviral medicine used in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) – 1 infection. Indease capsule is a protease inhibitor. Indease capsule works by reducing the viral load of HIV in your body. Indease capsule improves your immune system and reduces the risk of conditions associated with HIV infection. Indease capsule is used in combination with other antiretrovirals for efficiency.

Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule is used to treat adults only who are infected by HIV-1. It must be taken in combination with other anti-HIV medicines. Your doctor will discuss which combination of medicines is best for you.

Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule is used with other anti-HIV medication to help control HIV infection. Indease capsule helps to decrease the amount of HIV virus in your body thus your immunity works better by reducing your chance of getting HIV complications like co-infections and other cancers. Indease capsule is a protease inhibitor. Indease capsule is not a cure for HIV infection, it improves immunity that results in longevity of life. Indease capsule is not recommended for use in children due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Indease capsule is indicated in the treatment of HIV-1 infection that causes AIDS in humans. Indease capsule is used with other antiretroviral medications to boost the immunity of the affected hosts. Indease capsule is indicated in adults only.

• if you have renal diseases

Very common side effects that occur in more than 1:10 patients: headache, rash, nausea, vomiting, altered taste sensations, indigestion or diarrhoea, stomach pain, dizziness, fatigue.

Common side effects that occur 1:10 patients: fluctuance, itching, dry mouth, acid reflux, muscle pain, pain on urination, difficulty to sleep, feeling numb or unusual feeling of the skin.

Uncommon side effects that occur 1:100 patients: Lactic acidosis, Pancreatitis, elevations in serum amylase, Hepatitis, Angioedema, Rhabdomyolysis, Peripheral neuropathy

The regular food intake must be high caloric – fat and protein-rich

Indease capsule is best taken one or two hours before food.

Water intake per day needs to be more than 1.5liters

Indease capsule must be taken every 8 hours regularly

After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of Indease than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing Indease capsule dose without approval may cause the amount of the virus to increase making the infection more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

The recommended dosage for Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule is one capsule taken twice per day or 800mg (two capsules) taken twice per day

It must be taken with other antiretrovirals as prescribed by the physician without fail. These drugs must be taken with or without food on a regular time basis.

• Musculoskeletal problems - Osteonecrosis that causes joint stiffness and pain in larger joints like shoulder, hip, and knee
• Accumulation or Redistribution of body fat or
• immune reconstitution syndrome.
• Any sign of infection – fever or lymph node enlargement
• Lactose intolerance or galactose malabsorption

Drug-Drug Interaction

Efficacy is decreased by Aluminium hydroxide, Calcium carbonate, Esomeprazole

Serum concentration is increased by Cholic Acid, Fluticasone propionate, Haloperidol

Serum concentration is decreased by Efavirenz, Nevirapine, Phenytoin

Drug-Food Interaction

Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule can be safely taken with high caloric food, if doubts arise kindly refer to your physician. Indease capsule generally causes side effects thus it is advised not to be taken with alcohol. It is preferred to drive or operate heavy machinery with caution.

In general, if you miss a single dose of Indease (Indinavir (400mg)) capsule and remember it within the next 2 hrs, you can take it. If it is more than 2 hrs, skip the dose and take the next dose at the recommended timDon’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
