- Allergic reactions - It can be mild hypersensitivity and angioedema to severe like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.

Medical Description of Innotubilin 80mg Injection
Innotubilin contains its active substance called Docetaxel. It is an antineoplastic agent and antimicrotubular. It is not recommended in paediatric. Innotubilin is used in the treatment of breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, head and neck cancer, prostate cancer.

Innotubilin is used in the adult to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, head and neck cancer, prostate cancer.

It is used in the treatment of hormone-based cancers like breast cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer. Docetaxel is used only in adults.
Prostate Cancer :
Prostate Cancer is also called prostatic carcinoma. It is a walnut-shaped gland in males which is caused by DNA changes of a normal prostate cell. Symptoms include difficulty in urinating, blood in urine and semen, bone pain, weight loss, and erectile dysfunction
Gastric Cancer :
It is also called stomach cancer. This abnormal growth of cells can occur in any region of your stomach. The condition worsens gastric cancer includes gastroesophageal reflux disease, obesity, smoking and family history of stomach cancer. Symptoms include bloating, heartburn, indigestion, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and weight loss

Docetaxel is an antineoplastic and anti microtubular medication that inhibits the multiplication or proliferation of abnormal cells by inhibiting blood supply and nutrients.It binds to tubulin and causes dismemberment of microtubules thus interferes with mitosis of cell cycle resulting in metaphase of cell cycle thus induce apoptosis of abnormal cancer cells. This results in the growth of cancer cells.

How to Take Innotubilin 80mg Injection
Innotubilin is used only in the presence of a physician.
It must be given intravenously as a slow infusion drip
It is compatible is NS and D5W
Docetaxel is a cytotoxic drug thus it should be disposed of safely
It must be diluted twice before administration
Dilution must be done with repeated inversion technique and infused within 1 hr as a slow infusion
Administer antihistamine, H2 agonist and dexamethasone 30mins before Docetaxal administration
Store multiuse vials at 8C and bring them down to room temperature before use.
After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of this drug than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing your dosage without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.
Use of Innotubilin 80mg Injection in Adult
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.
The recommended dosage in the case of breast cancer as monotherapy is 60-100mg/m2 IV over 1 hr every 3 weeks
The recommended dosage in the case of breast cancer as combination therapy is 75mg/m2 IV over 1 hr after administration of doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide given every 3 weeks for 6 cycles
The recommended dosage in the case of non-small cell lung cancer is 75mg/m2 IV over 1 hr every 3 weeks
The recommended dosage in the case of gastric cancer is 75mg/m2 IV over 1 hr followed by cisplatin 75mg/m2 over 3 hr infusion followed by 5FU 750mg/m2/d given as 24hrs infusion for 5 days. Treatment is repeated every 3 weeks
The recommended dosage in the case of head and neck cancer is 75mg/m2 IV over 1 hr followed by cisplatin 75mg/m2 over 3 hr infusion followed by 5FU 750mg/m2/d given as 24hrs infusion for 5 days. Treatment is repeated every 3 weeks for 4 cycles
The recommended dosage in the case of prostate cancer is 75mg/m2 IV over 1 hr every 3 weeks given with prednisone 5mg taken orally twice a day
Dosage modification is required in the case of diarrhoea, neutropenia, peripheral neuropathy, renal or hepatic impairment.

Docetaxel has been used in few patients 65 years or older.

General instructions
Docetaxel is can be given intravenously. Administer antiemetics, antihistamine and steroids before 30mins to Docetaxel IV. Avoid drinking grape juice or eat grape fruit.

Drug-Drug Interaction
Apalutamide + Docetaxel
Use alternative drugs because the use of apalutamide will decrease the effect of docetaxel by affecting the patient hepatic or intestinal enzymes.
Deferiprone + Docetaxel
Use alternative drugs because the combination of this drug either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism.
Erdafitnib + Docetaxel
Use alternative drug because the use of erdafitnib increase the effect of docetaxel by P-glycoprotein efflux
Belatacept + Docetaxel
Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug increase the immunosuppressive effect which increases the risk of developing an infection
Ethotoin + Docetaxel
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of docetaxel decreases the level of ethotoin by inhibiting the GI absorption
Drug-Food Interaction
Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you are receiving docetaxel because the use of this increase the blood level of docetaxel and increase the risk of adverse events such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, mouth sores, fluid retention, nerve and muscle pain.
Drug-Disease Interaction
Edema
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of docetaxel cause peripheral edema, generalized edema, pleural effusion, dyspnea, cardiac tamponade, and abdominal distension
Eye disorders:
The use of docetaxel is contraindicated because it may cause cystoids macular edema. So, before initiating the treatment do an ophthalmologic test.
Hepatic dysfunctions:
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment because the use of docetaxel shows a decrease in the total body clearance and an increase in the serum concentration of docetaxel.
