    Medical Description of Lecef 500mg Capsule

    The Lecef 500mg Capsule contains Cephalexin (Cefalexin) used to treat conditions Tonsillitis/pharyngitis, Bronchitis, Urinary tract infection, Respiratory tract infection, Otitis media, Bone and joint infection and Gonorrhoea. Cephalexin (Cefalexin) is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Mainly bacterial infection targets the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

    Drug Interaction of Lecef 500mg Capsule

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Cholera vaccine

    Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

    Estradiol

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of  Cephalexin (Cefalexin) will decrease the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure

    Warfarin

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug may decrease the vitamin K producing intestinal flora and increase the INR level after a few days

    Furosemide

    The use of Cephalexin (Cefalexin) increase the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing nephrotoxicity

    Aspirin

    The use of Cephalexin (Cefalexin) will increase the effect of aspirin by acidic drug competition for renal tubular clearance.

    Chloramphenicol

    Colitis
