    How to Take Lefno 20 Tablet

    Drug Interaction of Lefno 20 Tablet

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Abatacept + Leflunomide

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug may cause unspecified interaction mechanisms.

    Anthrax vaccine + Leflunomide

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of leflunomide decreases the effect of the anthrax vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism. The use of this drug increases the risk of infection.

    Rabies vaccine + Leflunomide

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of leflunomide decreases the effect of the rabies vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism. The use of immunosuppressants may interfere with the development of immunity.

    Adalimumab + Leflunomide

    Use alternative drugs because the combination of this drug may increase the immunosuppressive effects and also increase the risk of infections.

    Etanercept + Leflunomide

    Use alternative drug because the combination of this drug either increase the effect of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism and also increase the risk of serious infections.

    Oxaliplatin + Leflunomide

    The use of oxaliplatin with immunosuppressants may increase the risk of serious infection.

    GI perforation

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with an increased risk of gastrointestinal perforation.  Before initiating the treatment monitor the patient with a history of gastrointestinal perforation

    Hepatic disorder

    Leflunomide has not been studied in a patient with severe hepatic impairment and the use of this drug has been associated with an increased risk of liver enzyme elevation. So the use of this drug is not recommended in patients with hepatic impairment. Frequently monitor the patient's liver function tests.

    Infections

    Serious bacterial, mycobacterial, fungal, viral, and other possible infections have been reported in patients who are all receiving leflunomide. Before initiating the treatment it is recommended to avoid the use of this drug in patients with an active and serious infection.

    Renal disease

    Patients with moderate and severe renal impairment had greater adalimumab in blood levels. No dose adjustment of leflunomide is necessary for patients with mild renal impairment.


    Over Dose
