    Medical Description of Lizolid Plus Tablet

    Lizolid Plus Tablet contains Cefixime 200mg and Linezolid 600mg used to treat conditions like Bacterial infections, Urinary Tract Infection, Pneumonia, Ear infection, Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis, Gonorrhoea, and Skin and structure infection. Cefixime 200mg is an antibiotic used to treat infections and it mainly targets the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract bacterial infection.  Linezolid 600mg is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor used to treat bacterial infection by inhibiting the initial process of bacterial synthesis. The combination of this medicine helps to fight against microbes and also prevents the growth of bacteria. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Don’t break, chew, or crush the tablet

    Drug Interaction of Lizolid Plus Tablet

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Cholera vaccine

    Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

    Estradiol

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cefixime will decrease the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure

    Warfarin

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug may decrease the vitamin K producing intestinal flora and increase the INR level after a few days

    Furosemide

    The use of cefixime increase the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing nephrotoxicity

    Aspirin

    The use of cefixime will increase the effect of aspirin by acidic drug competition for renal tubular clearance.

    Almotriptan

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of linezolid increases the effect of almotriptan by decreasing its metabolism

    Drug-Food Interaction

    The food may increase the effect of the drug in your body so it is advised to take this tablet with food to increase the absorption

    Colitis

    This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. This drug should be used caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis (swelling of the colon inner lining). It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition.

    Kidney disease

    This medicine is filtered by the kidneys and passes through the urine. Then it leads to the risk of kidney damage. It should be used with caution in a patient with kidney disease. Inform your doctor and then take. Based on the patient's condition, dose adjustment is needed.

    Seizures

    Using this medicine is needs caution in patients with seizures or fits. Inform the doctor, then will do dose adjustment if necessary to take this medicine with seizure medications.

    Lab interactions

    This medicine gives a false positive test for Coombs test and Urine ketones test.


    Over Dose
