    Malirid 45mg Tablet contains Primaquine 45mg used to treat parasitic infections such as Malaria. Primaquine is an 8-Aminoquinoline antimalarial drug that results in interacting with certain substances which are required for the malarial parasitic cells present in our blood for their vital functions. It is usually effective against plasmodium vivax, and Plasmodium ovale strains of malarial parasites. It produces its action by killing the parasite that causes infection and also helps to prevent the infections.

    Drug Interaction of Malirid 45mg Tablet

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Lefamulin

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of lefamulin will increase the effect of primaquine by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Deferiprone

    Use alternative drugs because the combination of this drug either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism.

    Quinacrine

    Use alternative drugs because the use of quinacrine increases the level of primaquine by unspecified interaction mechanism.

    Ifosfamide

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing myelosuppression

    Probenecid

    The combination of this drug increases the risk for developing hemolysis in G6PD deficiency

    Methemoglobinemia/NADH methemoglobin reductase deficiency

    Malirid 45mg Tablet (Primaquine 45mg)should not be recommended in patients with Methemoglobin (caused due to the deficiency of NADH-methemoglobin reductase enzyme), which leads to worsening the patient health conditions.

    Granulocytopenia

    Malirid 45mg Tablet (Primaquine 45mg)should not be recommended in patients with granulocytopenia (systemic diseases include Rheumatoid arthritis, leucopenia, etc. leads to decreases in granulocyte blood cells), leads to developing reduction of immune system capabilities. Then it leads to worsening the patient's health conditions.


    Over Dose

    Missed Dose
