    Maxigard 250mg/250mg Injection contains Imipenem 250mgand Cilastatin 250mg used to treat bacterial infections such as Lower respiratory tract infections, Urinary tract infections, Intraabdominal infections, Bacterial septicemia, Bone and joint infections, Skin and skin structure infections, Endocarditis, and Gynecological infections. Mainly this bacterial infection targets the bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, lungs, blood, bone and joints, skin and skin structures, heart, vagina or genital tract, and urinary tract. Imipenem 250mg is a Carbapenem antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections by inhibiting the bacterial cell wall synthesis which is essential for bacterial growth. Cilastatin 250mg is a Dehydropeptidase I inhibitor to inhibit the Dehydropeptidase I enzyme produced by bacteria. This enzyme destroys the action of antibiotics. The combination of this medicine helps to fight against the bacteria which are responsible for infections. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial and parasitic infections

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Cholera vaccine

    Use alternative medicine, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

    Probenecid

    It is a uricosuric used to treat chronic gout and gouty arthritis. This medicine alters the action of probenecid. . Kindly consult with your doctor

    Valproic acid
