Moxpil 500mg Capsule contains Amoxicillin it is in the class of medication called Penicillin (Antibiotics) which are meant for oral use only. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infection includes Ear, Nose, and Throat infection, Genitourinary tract infections, Skin infections, Lower respiratory tract infection, Helicobacter Pylori infection, Anthrax, and Infective Endocarditis by inhibiting the growth of bacterial cell wall which is needed for to survive. The use of Amoxicillin does not produce action against colds, flu, and other viral infections

Bacterial infections:

Bacterial infection occurs when bacteria enter your body and start multiplying which may cause tissue damage and make you sick. Mostly it is caused by Staphylococcus and Streptococcus organisms. The common bacterial disease includes cholera, bacterial meningitis, tetanus, gonorrhea, pneumonia, and syphilis. Symptoms include fever, chills, and sweats, inflamed lymph nodes, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain

Ear, Nose and Throat infection:

Ear, Nose, and Throat infection includes Tonsillitis, Ear infections, Sinus infections.

Tonsillitis:

Inflammation of tonsils is called tonsillitis which causes server throat pain and is caused by Streptococcus pyogenic. Symptoms include inflamed tonsils, sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, bad breath, headache, and inflamed lymph nodes

Ear infection:

It usually occurs when the bacterial or viral infection affects your middle ears. It is caused by colds, sinus infections, smoking, allergies, and inflamed adenosis. Symptoms include pain, hearing loss, pus-like drainage.

Genitourinary tract infection

It is a type of infection that affects the urethra, kidneys, and bladder. It is caused by Escherichia coli (E.coli). Symptoms include abdominal pain, frequent urination, dysuria, blood in urine, foul-smell while urinating

Skin infection

It is usually caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. The common skin infection includes cellulitis, impetigo. Symptoms include red skin, blisters, swelling, pain, red spots, and tenderness

Lower respiratory tract infections:

Infection in the lungs especially in the lower airways Common infections are Bronchiolitis and Pneumonia which are caused by Streptococcus pneumonia. Symptoms include runny nose, dry cough, sore throat, low-grade fever, and headache.

• No, if you have a penicillin allergy don't consume this medicine it may worsen your condition. Be your physician informed about your allergies.
• Do I have a chance of getting an allergic reaction later?
• A late allergic reaction includes rashes, fever, joint pains, and enlargement of the lymph nodes, under the arms, which occurs in 7-12 days.
• Whether Amoxicillin 500mg capsule will cause drowsiness for me?

Alcohol

It is considered safe to consume alcohol while taking this medication. Kindly consult with your doctor

Driving or operating machinery

The capsule is taken orally with or without food. You should not chew, cut or crush the Capsule. Initially start with a low dose and slowly increase the dose once every week. Follow the direction mentioned within the label if you probably did not understand the appliance kindly ask your doctor or pharmacist to elucidate in detail. Do not withdraw the medicine when you feel better kindly complete the course of treatment to avoid reoccurrence.

The use of this drug should be avoided in patients with infectious mononucleosis because it may increase the risk of developing an erythematous skin rash

The use of this drug may cause clostridium difficile associated diarrhoea

A high dose may cause a false urine glucose test

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are allergic to cephalosporins and Carbapenems.

• If the patient is allergic to the composition of the medicines

• If you’re not responding to the corresponding treatment

Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live + Amoxicillin

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of Amoxicillin decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic synergism

Demeclocycline + Amoxicillin

Use alternative drugs because the use of demeclocycline decreases the effect of Amoxicillin by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Mycophenolate + Amoxicillin

Use alternative drugs because the use of Amoxicillin will decrease the effect of mycophenolate by other

Acyclovir + Amoxicillin

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug either increases the level of the other by decreasing renal clearance.

Aspirin + Amoxicillin

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug either increases the level of the other by plasma protein binding

Drug-Disease Interaction

Diabetes:

The use of this drug may produce false-positive reactions when you are testing for glucose levels in your urine. So, it is recommended to do the glucose test by the enzymatic glucose oxidase reaction

Renal dysfunction:

The serum concentration of beta-lactam antibiotics increases the half-life in a patient with impaired renal functions. Depending upon your renal function dose should be adjusted

Hemodialysis:

During Hemodialysis penicillin antibiotics get removed from the body. So doses should be rescheduled after the dialysis process

Mononucleosis:

Amoxicillin should not be used in patients with mononucleosis because they develop pruritic erythematous maculopapular skin rash which occurs after 5-10 days of therapy

Consuming more quantity than the prescribed dose may cause an overdose. Kindly use the medicine as per you’re doctor advice

If you missed the dose take the medicine as soon as you remember. If it is time for a subsequent dose skip the missed dose and continue with a daily dose
