    How to Take Mycept 250 Capsule

    The Capsule is taken orally with or without food but it is better to take this medicine at a fixed time. You should not chew, cut or crush the Capsule.     Drug Interaction of Mycept 250 Capsule

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Anthrax vaccine + Mycophenolate

    Mycophenolate increases the effect of the anthrax vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism. Immunosuppressants increase the risk of infection in combination with live vaccines

    Rabies vaccine + Mycophenolate

    Mycophenolate decreases the effect of the rabies vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism. Immunosuppressants interfere in the development of immunity.

    Allopurinol + Mycophenolate

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of allopurinol increases the effect of mycophenolate by decreasing its metabolism. A combination of these drugs may increase the risk of bone marrow toxicity.

    Anakinra + Mycophenolate

    Use alternative drug because the combination of these drugs increases the effect of immunosuppressant and increase the risk of infections.

    Infliximab + Mycophenolate

    Use alternative drug because the combination of these drugs increases the effect of immunosuppressant and increase the risk of infections.

    Altretamine + Mycophenolate

    Altretamine increases the effect of mycophenolate through immunosuppressive effects. Use with Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug  may increase the risk of serious infections

    Drug-Food Interaction

    The use of grapefruit can increase the effect of immunosuppressants and increase the side effect on the kidney, liver, and nervous systems. Consult with your doctor if you have the following symptoms such as fever, rash, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, and jaundice.

    Hypertension

    The use of immunosuppressants is contraindicated in patients who are having rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis with uncontrolled hypertension.

    Renal dysfunction:

    The use of immunosuppressants is contraindicated in patients who are having rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis with renal impairment. Immunosuppressant causes a reversible reduction in renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate which leads to an increase in serum creatinine level. Closely monitor the patient's renal function

    Hepatic dysfunction:

    The use of immunosuppressant has contraindicated the patients who are having rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis with hepatic dysfunction because immunosuppressant is metabolized in the liver and eliminated through bile and feces. The use of this drug may alter the hepatic and bilirubin functions. Closely monitor the patient hepatic functions
