Norflox OZ LB Tablet contains Norfloxacin 400mg, Ornidazole 500mg and Lactobacillus 60 Million Spores used to treat diarrhea and dysentery. Mainly this bacterial infection targets the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, and lungs. Norfloxacin 400mg is an antibiotic that helps to inhibit the growth of infection. Ornidazole 500mg is antihelmintic which kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria. Lactobacillus 60 Million Spores is an antidiarrheals/probiotic works by restoring the good bacteria that is killed due to the use of antibiotics. This combination of medicine helps to kill microorganisms and it also increases the growth of good bacteria in the gut to improve digestion.

• The use of this medicine may cause encephalopathy and peripheral neuropathy
• Kindly avoid using this medicine in absence of any suspected bacterial or parasitic infection because it increases the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria and parasites
• Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having hepatic and renal impairment, heart failure, and H.pylori infection
• Use this medicine with care in patients who are having a history of blood dyscrasia, agranulocytosis, leucopenia, and neutropenia
• Kindly avoid receiving this medicine along with antiandrogen because it may cause gynecomastia
• Long-term use may cause superinfection
• It should not be the first drug of choice to pediatrics due to the increased risk for developing adverse effect
• The use of fluoroquinolones is associated with an increased risk for developing tendinitis and tendon rupture
• Kindly avoid using fluoroquinolones in patients who are with a history of myasthenia gravis because the use of this medicine may cause muscle weakness
• The use of this medicine may cause CNS effects to include convulsions, increased intracranial pressure, and toxic psychosis

                Tendinitis and Tendon rupture (Muscle damage)

• This medicine causes tendinitis and tendon rupture, which mainly affects your shoulder, hands, ankles, or other joint parts of your body. And muscle damage also occurs usually on the tendons surrounding the muscles. It may experience pain, numbness, or tingling sensations in your muscles. It should be a risk in patients of more than 60 years of age or undergone a transplant of kidney, heart, or lung. If necessary, then needs dose adjustment or replacement

                Diarrhea

• This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition. Better to take probiotics with this medicine to avoid diarrhea.

               Antibiotic resistance

• Finish the complete course of antibiotics even if you feel better. Otherwise, it will lead to Antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may be resistant to antibiotics)

               Dialysis

• Using this medicine doesn’t show effects in patients on dialysis. This medicine should be scheduled before or after the dialysis procedure.

• You have a history of gastrointestinal disease
• You are not responding to the treatment

• You have a Glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase

BCG vaccine live

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Aluminum hydroxide

Use alternative drugs because the use of aluminum hydroxide decreases the effect of norfloxacin by inhibiting the GI absorption

Escitalopram

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of escitalopram increase the toxicity of norfloxacin by QTc interval

Estradiol

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of norfloxacin decreases the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure.

Anti-diabetic drug

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of norfloxacin increases the effect of glimepiride by pharmacodynamic synergism.

Haloperidol

It should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine increases the QTc interval.

Dronabinol

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of ornidazole increases the toxicity of dronabinol by inhibiting aldehyde dehydrogenase

Ketoconazole

Use alternative drugs because the use of ketoconazole increases the effect of ornidazole by affecting its hepatic or intestinal metabolism

Using this medicine is needs caution in patients with seizures, other central nervous system abnormalities, or fits. If necessary to take this medicine with seizure medications.

Colitis

This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. This drug should be used caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis (swelling of the colon inner lining). It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition.

QT prolongation

This drug should be used with caution in patients with heart-related problems such as irregular heart rate, in which this drug alters the heart rate.

Neurologic toxicity

Blood Dyscrasias
