Omgril 20mg Capsule

Omgril 20mg Capsule contains Omeprazole 20mg. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), an anti-ulcer agent used to treat the stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Erosive Esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It decreases stomach acid secretion and relieves ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, used in combination with antibiotics like amoxicillin or clarithromycin and metronidazole or tinidazole; acid related to dyspepsia and active benign gastric ulcers. Furthermore, it is used to treat stress ulcers and acid secretion during the intake of painkillers (NSAIDs).

This medicine is contraindicated to allergic symptoms such as skin rashes, itching, swelling, breathing difficulties etc, liver dysfunction, atrophic gastritis, vitamin and mineral deficiency.

Omgril 20mg Capsule is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Erosive esophagitis, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, Gastroduodenal ulcers.

Erosive esophagitis

The swelling of esophagus (muscular tube helps food moves from the throat to the stomach) is called Esophagitis. It is caused due to excess acid production back flow from stomach to esophagus, resulting in a condition called Erosive esophagitis; it should irritate, and damages the lining of the esophagus. This medicine is used to treat this acid suppression in the stomach.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

GERD occurs due to stomach acid frequently flows backwards direction from the stomach to the esophagus, which leads to developing heartburn, and acid indigestion. Primarily it can manage with lifestyle changes and using OTC (Over the counter) medicines. Also, sometimes need surgery. This medicine is used to treat this backflow acid secretion in the stomach.

Helicobacter pylori infection

Gastro- duodenal ulcers

Omgril (Omeprazole) can also prescribe with a combination of antibiotics (amoxicillin, or clarithromycin), and metronidazole, or tinidazole to treat H. Pylori infection. Also used to treat stress ulcers, arises due to intake of NSAIDs. The course of this medicine is up to 8 weeks, infection not suppress, increase the course for more than 8 weeks in some cases. But, children should not be given more than 8 weeks. Swallow the whole Capsule at once. Don’t break, chewed or crushed the Capsule.

This action will last up to 24 hours, in between, more pumps will be produced by the stomach, which indicates the need to take the next dose to prevent the acid production in the stomach.
