    Medical Description of Pansa 40mg Injection

    Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), anti-ulcer agents used to treat stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Erosive Esophagitis, Zollinger-Elllison syndrome. It decreases the stomach acid secretion. It relieves ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, used in combination with antibiotics like amoxicillin and clarithromycin. It reduces stress ulcers and acid secretion during intake of painkillers. Pantoprazole acts on the final step of acid release in the stomach. It should not depends upon the food timings. It should be administered in hospital. Do not take spicy, fatty foods, alcohol, caffeinated drinks or beverage such as coffee, tea, and cola while taking this medicine. Remember try to finish your dinner three hours before going to bed. It needs clinical or hospital settings for administering the injection

    Mechanism of action of Pansa 40mg Injection

    Pantoprazole acts on the final step of gastric acid secretion; it blocks the acid releasing gastric parietal cells of the stomach. The parietal cell of the stomach contains H+/K+ ATP Pumps, which helps in acid secretion. Pantoprazole inhibits acid production by blocking these H+K+ ATP pumps. This action will last up to 24 hours, in between, more pumps will be produced by the stomach, which indicates the need to take the next dose to prevent the acid production in the stomach.


    How Pansa 40mg Injection works

    Pantoprazole relieves acid-related ulcers, indigestion and heartburn by decreasing the production of acid secretion in the parietal cells of the stomach. The patient feels better by using Pantoprazole within 2 to 3 days, if symptoms not persisted, may take up to 8 weeks.
