    Medical Description of Pansa 40mg Tablet

    Pansa 40mg Tablet contains Pantoprazole 40mg. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), an anti-ulcer agent used to treat to stomach, and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Erosive Esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It decreases stomach acid secretion. It relieves ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, used in combination with antibiotics like amoxicillin, or clarithromycin, and metronidazole, or tinidazole. Furthermore, it is used to treats stress ulcers and acid secretion during the intake of painkillers (NSAIDs).

    This medicine is contraindicated to allergic symptoms such as skin rashes, itching, swelling, breathing difficulties, etc, liver dysfunction, vitamin, and mineral deficiency.Used in the treatment of the following conditions as Erosive esophagitis, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and Gastroduodenal ulcers.

    Erosive esophagitis

    The swelling of the oesophagus (muscular tube that helps food moves from the throat to the stomach) is called Esophagitis. It is caused due to excess acid production back flow from stomach to oesophagus, resulting in a condition called Erosive esophagitis; it should irritate, and damages the lining of the oesophagus. This medicine is used to treat this acid suppression in the stomach.

    Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

    GERD occurs due to stomach acid frequently flows backwards direction from the stomach to the oesophagus, which leads to developing heartburn, and acid indigestion.     Pansa 40mg Tablet Indication

    Pansa 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Erosive esophagitis, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and Gastro- duodenal ulcers. 

    Pantoprazole can also prescribe with the combination of antibiotics (amoxicillin, or clarithromycin), and metronidazole, or tinidazole to treat H. Pylori infection. Also used to treat stress ulcers, arises due to intake of NSAIDs. The course of this medicine is up to 8 weeks, infections not suppress, increase the course for more than 8 weeks in some cases. But, children should not be given more than 8 weeks. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Don’t break, chewed, or crushed the tablet.


    Mechanism of action of Pansa 40mg Tablet

    Pansa 40mg Tablet contains Pantoprazole 40mg. Pantoprazole acts on the final step of gastric acid secretion; it blocks the acid releasing gastric parietal cells of the stomach. A parietal cell of the stomach contains H+/K+ ATP Pumps, which helps in acid secretion and then inhibits acid production by blocking these H+K+ ATP pumps. This action will last up to 24 hours, in between; more pumps will be produced by the stomach, which indicates the need to take the next dose to prevent the acid production in the stomach.


    How Pansa 40mg Tablet works

    Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), works by inhibiting the action of proton pumps (presented in the parietal cells of the stomach, involves acid secretion). Then it decreases the acid secretion from the stomach.
