Pipzin-TZ Injection

Pipzin-TZ injection contains Piperacillin 4000mg and Tazobactam 500mg used to treat following bacterial conditions such as Pneumonia, Urinary tract infections, Intraabdominal infections, Skin and skin structure infections, Neutropenia with fever, and Gynecological infections. Piperacillin 4000mg is an antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections. It is also used before surgery to prevent bacterial infections. Mainly this bacterial infection targets the lungs and urinary tract. Tazobactam 500mg is a β lactamase inhibitor. It should be given with antibiotic, which works by inhibiting the β lactamase enzyme (destroys the action of antibiotics) produced by bacteria.  The combination of this medicine helps to fight against microbes and also prevents the growth of bacteria. It is also used to prevent the infections that occur during surgery. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

Bacterial infections

Neutropenia with fever

Gynecological infections

Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Cholera vaccine

Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

Estradiol

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of piperacillin will decrease the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure

Warfarin

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug may decrease the vitamin K producing intestinal flora and increase the INR level after a few days

Furosemide

The use of piperacillin increase the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing nephrotoxicity

Aspirin

The use of piperacillin will increase the effect of aspirin by acidic drug competition for renal tubular clearance.

Chloramphenicol

It is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections like conjunctivitis. This medicine alters the action of chloramphenicol

Drug-Food Interaction

The food may increase the effect of the drug in your body so it is advised to take this medicine with food to increase the absorption

Drug-Disease Interaction

Colitis

This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. This drug should be used caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis (swelling of the colon inner lining). It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition.

Kidney disease

This medicine is filtered by the kidneys and passes through the urine. Then it leads to the risk of kidney damage. It should be used with caution in a patient with kidney disease. Inform your doctor and then take. Based on the patient's condition, dose adjustment is needed.

Seizures

Using this medicine is needs caution in patients with seizures or fits. Inform the doctor, then will do dose adjustment if necessary to take this medicine with seizure medications.

Liver disease

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Cephalosporins may increase the SGOT, SGPT, and Alkaline phosphatase levels.
