    Pylokit contains Clarithromycin (250mg), Tinidazole (500mg) and Lansoprazole (30mg) used to treat conditions like a Peptic ulcer. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, and anti-ulcer agent used to relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn in the stomach. Tinidazole is an antibiotic that helps to kill bacteria by damaging the DNA. Clarithromycin is an antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria. This combination decreases the acid secretion from the stomach and kills the ulcer-causing bacteria H.pylori. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Don’t break, chew, or crush the tablet

    • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Lansoprazole, Clarithromycin, and Tinidazole
    • It is contraindicated to use this medicine with Rilpivirine-containing products
    • Long term use may cause Cutaneous lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus
    • It is contraindicated to use this medicine if you have diarrhea because of Clostridium difficile bacterial infection
    • It is contraindicated to use this medicine along with colchicines in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunctions
    • Kindly avoid using this medicine if you have a history of cholestatic jaundice

    How to Take Pylokit

    It should be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before the meal as prescribed by the doctor. Take this medicine at a regular interval of time. It is better, try to finish your dinner as earlier as possible at least 2 – 3 hours before going to the bed, which leads to the reduction of acid secretion in the stomach.

    Take the correct dose and duration of medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Take the tablet has fully or wholly, don’t break, cut, chew, or crush the tablet.

    Drug Interaction of Pylokit

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Erlotinib

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the combination of the anti-ulcer drug with erlotinib may alter the upper stomach Ph and decrease its metabolism of medicine.

    Atazanavir:

    The use of Omeprazole decreases the effect of atazanavir by increasing the gastric Ph. Use alternative drugs also reduce the concentration of drug

    Methotrexate:

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Omeprazole increases the effect of methotrexate by decreasing its renal clearance. At a higher dose, it increases the risk of developing toxicity.

    Chloroquine

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of Chloroquine increases the toxicity of clarithromycin by Qtc interval

    Alprazolam

    Use alternative drugs because the use of clarithromycin increases the effect of alprazolam by affecting hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Lopinavir

    The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of tinidazole increases the toxicity of lopinavir by the inhibition of aldehyde dehydrogenase.

    Fluorouracil

    Use alternative drugs because the use of tinidazole will increase the effect of fluorouracil by decreasing its hepatic clearance.

    Drug-Food Interaction

    By using this medicine with food should be maintained time gap at least 1 hour before the meals for better effectiveness of the medicine. By using this medicine with spicy, fatty foods, alcohol, caffeinated drinks, or beverages such as coffee, tea, cola, etc, should be avoided for better effectiveness of the medicine.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    Pheochromocytoma

    It should be used with caution in patients with pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumor, leads to developing high blood pressure, sweating, fast heartbeat, etc), leading to worsening the patient's health conditions. Kindly consult with your doctor

    Epilepsy

    It should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy, which leads to worsening the patient's health conditions. Kindly consult with your doctor. Based on the patient clinical conditions, dose adjustment or replacement is needed.

    Liver diseases

    Bone fractures

    Vitamin B12 deficiency

    By using the medicine for a very long period of this time leads the Vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 supplements are given with omeprazole to minimize this vitamin deficiency. Kindly consult with your doctor.

    For the patients with heart problems, caution should be taken before taking the medicine otherwise leads to heart-related problems such as heart failure, etc which leads to the patient's conditions most worsening.     Myasthenia gravis:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in a patient with a history of myasthenia gravis because the use of this medicine may increase the risk of developing the symptoms of myasthenia gravis

    QT prolongation:

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the patients with congenital long QT syndrome, bradyarrhythmias, proarrhythmic conditions, hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia may develop prolonged cardiac repolarization and QT interval who are receiving this medicine.

    Blood dyscrasias:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in a patient who is with a history of blood dyscrasias because the use of this medicine has been associated with mild, transient leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, and bone marrow aplasia.


    Over Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.


    Missed Dose

    Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
