ReliTecan 100 Injection

ReliTecan 100mg Injection contains Irinotecan 100mg used to treat cancer of the colon and rectum. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells by suppressing the enzyme which is involved in the DNA multiplication of cancer cells. It is not recommended in children

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer

It is also called colon cancer. It is a type of cancer that starts from the large intestine and it usually affects older adults. It occurs when there is a change in the DNA of the normal cells. Symptoms include a change in bowel movement, rectal bleeding, fatigue, and weight loss. This medicine helps to inhibit the multiplication of cancer cells.

The ReliTecan 100mg Injection is prescribed in the following indications as colorectal cancer. It is used as an orphan drug in the cases of small cell lung cancer, cervical cancer, adenocarcinoma of the pancreas, esophageal cancer, Ewig's sarcoma, and glioblastoma.

ReliTecan 100mg Injection contains Irinotecan 100mg is an anti-cancer medication, a camptothecin produces its action by interacting with topoisomerase 1 of DNA causing reversible single or double-strand breaks in them. Thus, inhibits the proliferation of abnormal cells and shrinks the abnormal cells, and minimizes metastasis thus treating and controlling cancers.

ReliTecan 100mg Injection contains Irinotecan 100mg is an anti-cancer medication, a camptothecin produces its action by interacting with topoisomerase 1 present on DNA thus causing breaks in their strands causing instability in them required for further proliferation of abnormal cells. It minimizes the growth of abnormal cancer cells and terminates metastasis of tumors or cancers.

Yes, the common side effect of this medicine is nausea and fatigue so it is better to eat more frequent meals to decrease nausea and also avoid foods that are salty, spicy, fatty. Drink plenty of rest and do light exercise to keep yourself active

Yes, one of the common side effects of this medicine is hair loss. This will get treated once you stop the treatment.

• I have noticed some changes in my skin after taking the ReliTecan 100mg Injection? What should I do?

Use sunscreen whenever you step outdoors and use moisturizer to get relief from the rash, dry and itchy skin. Your skin will return to normal once your treatment is stopped.

Alcohol

Drug-Drug Interaction

Chloramphenicol

It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of chloramphenicol will increase the effect of irinotecan by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

Indinavir

It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of indinavir will increase the effect of irinotecan by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter

Atazanavir

Use alternative drugs because the use of atazanavir will increase the effect of irinotecan by decreasing its metabolism

Apalutamide

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of apalutamide will decrease the effect of irinotecan by increasing its elimination

Cholera vaccine

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of irinotecan will decrease the effect of the cholera vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism.

Myelosuppression
