Resihance 40mg Tablet

Resihance 40mg Tablet contains Regorafenib 40mg it’s an antineoplastic and tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It inhibits the signalling process required for the multiplication of abnormal cancer cells. Resihance 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of colorectal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and gastrointestinal stromal tumor. This medication is recommended for adults only.

Resihance 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of colorectal cancer, GIST and hepatocellular carcinoma. This tablet is used only in adults.

Resihance 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of some cancer and carcinoma in adults.

Resihance 40mg Tablet is used in adults for the treatment of:

• Colorectal cancer is metastatic and pre-treated with fluoropyrimidine, oxaliplatin, irinotecan-based chemotherapy
• Gastrointestinal stromal tumor which is locally advanced, unresectable, metastatic and pre-treated with imatinib mesylate and sunitinib
• Hepatocellular carcinoma who are pre-treated with sorafenib

Regorafenib is an antineoplastic, antiangiogenic and tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It acts on extracellular and intracellular receptors that contain tyrosine. The active metabolites like M2 and M5 inhibit the activity of RET, VEGFR, KIT, PDGFR, DDR2, and BRAF. It inhibits tyrosine kinase present in receptors thus signalling processes required for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. It shrinks the abnormal cells and minimises metastasis thus treats and controls cancers.

Regorafenib is an antineoplastic, antiangiogenic and tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It inhibits tyrosine containing intracellular and extracellular receptors thus the signalling process for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells is inhibited. It minimises the growth of abnormal cancer cells and terminates metastasis of tumors or cancers.

Absolute contraindication:

• if you are allergic to Resihance 40mg (Regorafenib 40mg) Tablet or its constituents
• if you are taking any vaccines
• if you are pregnant
• if you are breastfeeding
• if you are less than 18 years of age

Relative contraindication:

• if you have a liver disorder
• if you have a haemorrhagic disorder
• if you have a heart disorder
• if you have renal disorder

Common side effects that occur 1:10 patients: Anemia, Increased AST/ALT, Asthenia, Proteinuria, Hypocalcemia, Hypophosphatemia, Lymphopenia, Decreased appetite and food intake, Increased lipase/amylase, Hyperbilirubinemia, Diarrhea, Thrombocytopenia, Mucositis, Weight loss, Infection, Hypertension, Dysphonia, Hyponatremia, Pain, Fever, Rash, Hypokalemia, Increased INR, Hemorrhage, Nausea, Proteinuria, Alopecia, Hypothyroidism, Neutropenia, Muscle spasms

Rare side effects that occur 1:1,000 patients: Anaphylactic shock, angioedema, urticaria, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, nephrotic syndrome, cardiac failure, arterial aneurysm/dissection/rupture

Is Resihance 40mg (Regorafenib 40mg) Tablet safe during pregnancy?

No, taking Resihance 40mg Tablet during pregnancy is not recommended thus inform your physician if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant

Can Resihance 40mg Tablet be taken while breastfeeding?

No, in general it is suggested that drugs and their metabolites can pass via breastfeeding thus it is suspected that Resihance 40mg Tablet can also pass via breastfeeding.

This tablet is taken orally; It must be taken at the same time once a day as prescribed by your physician; It must be swallowed as a whole; Don’t chew or crush this tablet.

After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of the Regorafenib drug than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing the Regorafenib dose without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.

This tablet is not recommended in children

This tablet has only been used in few patients 65 years or older. Dosage and usage are similar to adults. Discuss with your physician before usage.

• Allergic reactions - It can be mild hypersensitivity and angioedema to severe like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
• Hepatotoxicity
• Secondary infections
• Haemorrhagic disorders
• Gastrointestinal perforation or fistula
• Cardiotoxicity – hypertension/MI
• Reversible Posterior Leukoencephalopathy Syndrome
• Impaired wound healing
• Pregnancy – causes embryo-fetal toxicity
• Breastfeeding – causes side effects similar to adults
• Alcohol intake or Driving or operating heavy machinery – Resihance 40mg Tablet causes side effects thus caution is required. consult your physician

Resihance 40mg Tablet is taken orally as prescribed dosage at a specific time regularly with or without food. Do not drink grape juice or eat grapefruit.

Drug-Drug Interaction

Metabolism is increased by Calcitriol, Vitamin E

Metabolism is decreased by Ginkgo biloba, Melatonin, Niacin

Therapeutic efficacy is decreased by Cyanocobalamin

Serum concentration is increased by folic acid

Serum concentration is decreased by St. John's Wort

Severity of adverse effects is increased by Phenylalanine

Drug-Food Interaction

Avoid eating grapefruit or drink grape juice. To avoid diarrhea, take small sips of sugar-free drinks or take small amounts of meals or take spicy food with this medication. This medication can be taken with or without food, if doubts arise kindly refer to your physician. It is best to take low-fat meal. This medication generally causes side effects thus it is advised not to be taken with alcohol. It is preferred to drive or operate heavy machinery with caution.

Drug-Disease Interaction

• Lung disorders – used with caution in interstitial lung disease. Consult a physician before use
• Electrolyte disorders – used with caution in electrolyte imbalance. Consult physician before use
• Bone disorders – used with caution in hypocalcemia. Consult a physician before use
• Cardiac disorders – used with caution in bradycardia and QT prolongation. Consult a physician before use
• Hematological disorders – used with caution in bleeding disorders like thrombosis. Consult a physician before use
• Liver disorders – used with caution in severe liver diseases. Consult a physician before use
• Kidney disorders – used with caution in severe kidney diseases. Consult a physician before use

Overdosage of this tablet has less literature thus Contact your physician.

You can take the missed dosage if you notice within 12 hours. If it is more than 12 hours, then skip the dosage and take the next doses as usual. Don’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
