    Revolade 50mg Tablet contains Eltrombopag 50mg it’s an antineoplastic medication. It is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist. This tablet acts on hematopoietic growth factors and inhibits its function. This tablet is used in the treatment of thrombocytopenia and aplastic anemia. This medication is recommended for adults and children more than 1 year of age.

    Revolade 50mg Tablet is an antineoplastic, thrombopoietin receptor inhibitor. This tablet acts on hematopoietic growth factors and inhibits its growth functions. This tablet inhibits the multiplication or proliferation of abnormal cells by inhibiting signalling pathway required for proliferation.  This tablet is used in adults and children above age 1 in the treatment of

    • Chronic immune thrombocytopenia who has failed treatment with splenectomy, immunoglobulin and corticosteroids
    • Chronic hepatitis C associated thrombocytopenia treated with interferon-based treatment
    • Severe aplastic anemia treated with immunosuppressant

    Revolade 50mg (Eltrombopag 50mg) Tablet is an antineoplastic.  It is a thrombopoietin receptor antagonist. It competitively binds to the thrombopoietin receptor and inhibits the proliferation of megakaryocytes and platelet production. The decrease in proliferation causes effective treatment way for conditions related to thrombocytopenia and aplastic anemia.

    This tablet inhibits the proliferation of megakaryocytes and platelet production which is the function of thrombopoietin receptors. The decrease in proliferation causes effective treatment way for conditions related to thrombocytopenia of immune-mediated or hepatitis C mediated and aplastic anemia


    Revolade 50mg Tablet Contraindication

    Absolute contraindication:

    • if you are allergic to Revolade 50mg (Eltrombopag 50mg) Tablet or its constituents
    • if you are pregnant

    How to Take Revolade 50mg Tablet

    This tablet is taken orally; It must be taken at the same time once a day as prescribed by your physician; It can be taken without food either 1 hr before or 2 hrs after food intake;

    Co-administrating supplement medications must be taken either 2 hrs before or 4 hrs after intake of this medication; It must be swallowed as a whole; Don’t chew or break this tablet.

    After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of this drug than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing your dose without approval may cause adverse effects making the condition more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.


    Use of Revolade 50mg Tablet in Adult

    If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.


    Use of Revolade 50mg Tablet in children

    This tablet is not recommended in children under 1 year of age


    Use of Revolade 50mg Tablet in Elderly Patients

    This tablet has only been used in few patients 65 years or older. Dosage and usage are similar to adults. Discuss with your physician before usage.

    General instructions

    Revolade 50mg Tablet is taken orally as prescribed dosage at a specific time regularly on an empty stomach either 1 hr before or 2 hrs after food intake. If taken as an oral solution for children shake the bottle for 20sec before use.

    Metabolism is decreased by Adenine, Melatonin, Tretinoin

    Serum concentration is decreased by calcium, Magnesium lactate, Zinc ascorbate

    Serum concentration is increased by folic acid

    Drug-Food Interaction

    This tablet must be taken without food on an empty stomach either 1 hr before or 2 hr after food, if doubts arise kindly refer to your physician. Revolade generally causes side effects thus it is advised not to be taken with alcohol. It is preferred to drive or operate heavy machinery with caution.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    • Cardiac disorders – used with caution in heart arrythmia. Consult a physician before use
    • Hematological disorders – used with caution in bleeding disorders like thrombosis. Consult a physician before use
    • Bone disorders – used with caution in osteonecrosis. Consult a physician before use.

    Over Dose

    Overdosage of the tablet has less literature thus Contact your physician.


    Missed Dose

    You can take the missed dosage if you notice within 12 hours. If it is more than 12 hours, then skip the dosage and take the next doses as usual. Don’t take a double dose for a forgotten dose.
