    Rez-Q 100mg Suspension contains Quinine Sulfate 100mg used to treat parasitic infections such as Malaria. Quinine Sulphate is an antimalarial drug, it is an alkaloid obtained from cinchona bark, results in interacting with certain substances which are required for the malarial parasitic cells present in our blood for their vital functions and it also results in decreases the motor nerve fiber, and skeletal muscle fibers which is responsible for muscle contractions, and movement at the spinal cord. It is also used to treat night leg cramps (muscle contraction). It produces its action by killing the parasite that causes infection and also helps to prevent the infections.

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Atracurium

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of quinine increases the effect of atracurium by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing respiratory depression

    Mefloquine

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug increases the risk of developing ECG abnormalities and cardiac arrest.

    Colchicine

    Use alternative drugs because the use of quinine will increase the effect of colchicines by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter.

    Mifepristone

    Use alternative drugs because the use of mifepristone will increase the effect of quinine by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Amantadine

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of quinine will increase the effect of amantadine by decreasing its renal clearance.

    Digoxin

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of digoxin will increase the effect of quinine by basic drug competition for renal tubular clearance.
