Ropit 150mg Tablet contains Roxithromycin used to treat any type of bacterial infections such as otitis media acute pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, urethritis, impetigo, cellulitis, sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, and also in typhoid fever. This medicine targets the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin infections. Roxithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that produces its action by inhibiting the growth of bacteria which is responsible for infections.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Bacterial infections such as otitis media, acute pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, urethritis, impetigo, cellulitis, sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, and also in typhoid fever.

Bacterial infections:

It is usually prescribed once daily and it should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after your meals. Kindly consult with your doctor.

Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis was reported while you are using this medicine

Long-term use may cause bacterial or fungal overgrowth

Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea has been reported

The use of this medicine may cause QT prolongation which increases the risk of developing cardiac arrhythmia

Ropit 150mg Tablet is a regular antibiotic against bacterial infections. particularly used for acute respiratory conditions, ear pains, skin, and soft tissue infections, genital sores, typhoid fever which s uncomplicated. It involves blocking protein and killing bacteria. Does not help in virus diseases. Do not overdose on the tablet and take it according to the prescribed format. Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live

The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Cholera vaccine

Use alternative medicine, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

Antithrombin111

Use alternative drugs because the use of azithromycin increases the effect of roxithromycin by decreasing its metabolism.

Digoxin

Use alternative drugs because the use of roxithromycin increases the effect of digoxin by altering the intestinal flora

Ceritinib

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of roxithromycin increase the effect of ceritinib by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter

Cisapride

Use alternative drug because the use of roxithromycin increases the toxicity of cisapride by QTc interval

Drug-Food Interaction

The food may increase the effect of the medicine in your body so it is advised to take this tablet with food to increase the absorption

Drug-Disease Interaction

Colitis

This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. This medicine should be used caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis (swelling of the colon inner lining). It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition.

Myasthenia gravis

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of macrolide antibiotics trigger the symptoms of myasthenia gravis

Liver disease:

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of roxithromycin may cause hepatotoxicities like abnormal liver function, hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, necrosis, and hepatic failure.

QT prolongation:

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having a history of bradyarrhythmia, proarrhythmic like uncorrected hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia because the use of roxithromycin itself may cause cardiac repolarization and QT interval.

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.
