Scleroxil 2mg Injection contains Mitoxantrone 2mg/ml used to treat multiple sclerosis, acute nonlymphocytic leukemia, and prostate cancer. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. It is used alone or with other combination chemotherapy.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions multiple sclerosis, acute nonlymphocytic leukemia, and prostate cancer.  

Multiple sclerosis

It is disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. In this condition, our immune system attacks the protective sheath and causes problems in communication between your brain. Symptoms include numbness, tremor, blurred vision, slurred speech, fatigue, dizziness, and sexual problems.

Acute Non-lymphocytic leukemia

It is also called acute myelogenous leukemia. This cancer occurs in the bone marrow and causes an increase in white blood cells. It occurs due to genetic changes in the stem cells which are produced by the bone marrow. Symptoms include easy bleeding, fever, weight loss, loss of appetite, night sweats, fatigue, and bone pain.

Prostate cancer

It is cancer that occurs in a man’s prostate. Usually, it grows slowly and is confined to the prostate gland. Symptoms include difficulty in urinating, blood in urine, semen, bone pain, weight loss, and erectile dysfunction. This medicine helps to inhibit the multiplication of cancer cells.

Scleroxil 2mg Injection contains Mitoxantrone 2mg/ml is an anti-cancer medication, an anthracenedione. It is a DNA-reactive agent that intercalated into deoxyribonucleic acid which results in cross-links and strand breaks. Thus it inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA which leads to cell death

Drug-Drug Interaction

Palifermin

Use alternative drugs because the use of palifermin increases the toxicity of the mitoxantrone by increasing the severity and duration of oral mucositis

Tofacitinib

Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increase the toxicity of the other by immunosuppressive effect and it also increases the risk for developing an infection.

Apalutamide

Use alternative drugs because the use of apalutamide will decrease the effect of mitoxantrone by increasing its metabolism

Dichlorphenamide

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine decreases the serum potassium

Eluxadoline

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of eluxadoline increases the effect of mitoxantrone by decreasing its metabolism

Trastuzumab

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by immunosuppressive effect and it also increases the risk of infection
