Drug Interaction of Sefepime 1gm Injection
Drug-Drug Interaction
BCG vaccine live
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism.
Cholera vaccine
Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination.
Estradiol
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cefepime will decrease the effect of estradiol by altering the intestinal flora and it also lowers the risk of contraceptive failure.
Warfarin
Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this drug may decrease the vitamin K producing intestinal flora and increase the INR level after a few days.
Furosemide
The use of cefepime increase the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of developing nephrotoxicity.
