    Spexib 150mg Capsule contains Ceritinib 150mg is an anti-cancer medication. It targets several tyrosine kinase proteins of anaplastic lymphoma kinase receptors(ALK) or CD246 receptors. Ceritinib produces its action by inhibiting phosphorylation of ALK thus the signaling process required for angiogenesis and proliferation is blocked which results decrease in the size of the tumor by starvation and increases apoptosis function.

It produces its action by inhibiting tyrosine kinase protein of ALK or CD246 receptors which is required for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells.     Drug Interaction of Spexib 150mg Capsule

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    Flibanserin

    It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of ceritinib will increase the effect of flibanserin by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

    Omeprazole

    Use alternative drugs because the use of omeprazole decreases the effect of ceritinib by increasing its gastric pH.

    Amiodarone

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of amiodarone increases the effect of ceritinib by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter

    Metformin

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of ceritinib decreases the effect of metformin by pharmacodynamic antagonism.

    Drug-Food Interaction

    Kindly avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you are receiving this medicine because grapefruit juice increases the blood level of ceritinib which increases the risk for developing irregular heart rhythm. If you have experienced dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitation immediately consult with your doctor.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    Lung toxicity

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are with a history of interstitial pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis because the use of these multikinase inhibitors may cause pulmonary toxicity.

    QT prolongation

    Therapy should be administered with caution in a patient with a history of QT prolongation because the use of this medicine itself may cause dose-dependent QT prolongation which leads to an increased risk for developing ventricular arrhythmias

    Hepatic impairment

    The pharmacokinetics data have not been studied in patients with moderate to severe liver impairment. The patients who are using this medicine with hepatic impairment may have increased exposure and drug-induced hepatotoxicity

    Pancreatitis

    The use of this medicine may cause pancreatitis so it is recommended to monitor the patient's lipase and amylase levels before initiating the treatment
