Spexib 150mg Capsule

Spexib 150mg Capsule contains Ceritinib 150mg used to treat Non-small cell lung cancer. It works by inhibiting the abnormal protein that helps the cancer cells to get multiply. This medicine is not recommended in children.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Non-small cell lung cancer.

Non-small cancer lung cancer

It is a type of lung cancer. It grows and spreads slowly when compared with small cell lung cancer. Smoking is considered a major risk factor for non-small cancer lung cancer. Symptoms include chronic cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, bone pain, and headache.

The Spexib 150mg Capsule is prescribed in the following indications as non-small cell lung cancer which is locally advanced or metastatic and lymphoma kinase positive.

Spexib 150mg Capsule contains Ceritinib 150mg is an anti-cancer medication. It targets several tyrosine kinase proteins of anaplastic lymphoma kinase receptors(ALK) or CD246 receptors. Ceritinib produces its action by inhibiting phosphorylation of ALK thus the signaling process required for angiogenesis and proliferation is blocked which results decrease in the size of the tumor by starvation and increases apoptosis function.

Spexib 150mg Capsule contains Ceritinib 150mg is an anti-cancer medication. It produces its action by inhibiting tyrosine kinase protein of ALK or CD246 receptors which is required for angiogenesis and proliferation of abnormal cells. This results in the shrinking of tumor cells and cell death.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene is present in all the cells. Lung cancer occurs when this loses its original structures and abnormal multiplication. This type of cancer is called ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer.

Yes, the use of this medicine may affect your blood glucose level so monitor your blood sugar level regularly. If you have experienced excessive thirst, hunger, increased urination and headache kindly consult with your doctor.

Use sunscreen whenever you step outdoors and use moisturizer to get relief from the rash, dry and itchy skin. Your skin will return to normal once your treatment is stopped.

Spexib 150mg Capsule is taken orally with or without food. You should not chew, cut or crush the capsule. Initially start with a low dose and slowly increase the dose once every week. Follow the direction mentioned within the label if you probably did not understand the appliance kindly ask your doctor or pharmacist to elucidate in detail. Do not withdraw the medicine when you feel better kindly complete the course of treatment to avoid reoccurrence.

• The use of this medicine may cause drug-induced hepatoxicity so kindly monitor the patients liver function test
• May cause interstitial lung diseases
• Kindly avoid this medicine in patients with congenital QT syndrome because the use of this medicine may prolong the QT interval
• Hyperglycemia and pancreatitis was reported

• You are not responding to the treatment
• You have experienced any allergic reaction like rashes and itching
• You have a receiving any concomitant medication and disease

Drug-Drug Interaction

Flibanserin

It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of ceritinib will increase the effect of flibanserin by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

Omeprazole

Use alternative drugs because the use of omeprazole decreases the effect of ceritinib by increasing its gastric pH.

Amiodarone

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of amiodarone increases the effect of ceritinib by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter

Metformin

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of ceritinib decreases the effect of metformin by pharmacodynamic antagonism.

Drug-Food Interaction

Kindly avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you are receiving this medicine because grapefruit juice increases the blood level of ceritinib which increases the risk for developing irregular heart rhythm. If you have experienced dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitation immediately consult with your doctor.

Drug-Disease Interaction

Lung toxicity

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are with a history of interstitial pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis because the use of these multikinase inhibitors may cause pulmonary toxicity.

QT prolongation

Therapy should be administered with caution in a patient with a history of QT prolongation because the use of this medicine itself may cause dose-dependent QT prolongation which leads to an increased risk for developing ventricular arrhythmias

Hepatic impairment

The pharmacokinetics data have not been studied in patients with moderate to severe liver impairment. The patients who are using this medicine with hepatic impairment may have increased exposure and drug-induced hepatotoxicity

Pancreatitis

The use of this medicine may cause pancreatitis so it is recommended to monitor the patient's lipase and amylase levels before initiating the treatment

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
