It produces its action by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX-1) and (COX-2). Thus it inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins which is responsible for pain and inflammation. It also inhibits the aggregation and activation of neutrophil and chemotaxis, decreases the proinflammatory cytokine level, and alter the activity of lymphocyte.
Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that produces its action by working in the centre of your brain and spinal cord and relieving stiffness of your muscle and it also helps to improve the pain and muscle movement.
