Trabec 1mg Infusion contains Trabectedin 1mg used to treat soft tissue sarcoma. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. It is used alone or with combination treatment to treat ovarian cancer that has come back.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions soft tissue sarcoma.  

Soft tissue sarcomas

It is a type of cancer that usually develops in the soft tissue of your body that begins in the tissue that connects other body structures. Symptoms include swelling lumps and muscle pain.

The Trabec 1mg Infusion is prescribed in the following indications as soft tissue sarcoma

Trabec 1mg Infusion contains Trabectedin 1mg is an anti-cancer medication, an alkylating agent. It produces its action by binding to the guanine residue in the groove of DNA and forms an adduct which results in a bending of the helix toward the major groove. This formation of adduct triggers the cascade of the events and affects the activity of the DNA-binding proteins which include in the transcription factor, and DNA repair pathways which result in cell death.

• The use of this medicine may cause neutropenic sepsis, rhabdomyolysis, musculoskeletal toxicity, hepatotoxicity
• Cardiomyopathy including cardiac failure, congestive heart failure, decreased ejection fraction, diastolic dysfunction can occur
• Capillary leak syndrome is characterized by hypotension, edema, and hypoalbuminemia was reported
• Kindly avoid pregnancy because the use of this medicine may cause fetal harm

• You are not responding to the treatment
• You have experienced any allergic reaction like rashes and itching
• You have a receiving any concomitant medication and disease
• You develop shortness of breath

Drug-Drug Interaction

Chloramphenicol

Use alternative drugs because the use of chloramphenicol increases the effect of trabectedin by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism

Deferiprone

Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism

Ifosfamide

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine increases the risk for developing cardiotoxic effect

Lonafarnib

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of lonafarnib will increase the effect of Trabectedin by P-glycoprotein efflux transporter.

Drug-Food Interaction

The use of grapefruit juice increases the blood level of Trabectedin and also increases the risk of side effects such as dizziness, confusion, hallucinations, mood changes, insomnia, drowsiness, congestive heart failure, and QT prolongation.

Drug-Disease Interaction

Cardiomyopathy

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with cardiomyopathy including cardiac failure, congestive heart failure, ejection fraction, diastolic dysfunction, and right ventricular dysfunction.

Hepatotoxicity

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of this medicine may cause hepatotoxicity including hepatic failure

Neutropenic sepsis

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of this medicine associated with neutropenic sepsis

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor. Do not skip the medicine, if you forgot to take the medicine or missed the dose. It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately. Don’t use the two-dose at one time (Double Dose).
