Troxin 125mg injection contains Ceftriaxone (125mg) used to treat conditions like Bacterial infections such as Urinary tract infection, Bronchitis, Community-Acquired Pneumonia, Otitis media, Gonorrhoea, Skin, and soft tissue infection, bone and joint infection, Bacterial meningitis, Bacterial septicemia, Pelvic inflammatory disease, Intra-abdominal infections, Bacteremia, Bacterial endocarditis, Lyme disease. Cefixime is an antibiotic used to treat infections. Mainly bacterial infection targets the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Ceftriaxone

Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of medicine decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Cholera vaccine

Use alternative drugs, because the use of the cholera vaccine with antibiotics may activate the vaccine strain. So, avoid receiving this combination of medicines before 14 days of vaccination

Dalteparin

Use alternative medicine because the use of ceftriaxone increases the effect of dalteparin by anticoagulation and it also increases the activity of prothrombin
Chloramphenicol

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of chloramphenicol decreases the effect of ceftriaxone by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Furosemide:

The use of Ceftriaxone increases the toxicity of furosemide by pharmacodynamic synergism and it also increases the risk of nephrotoxicity

Probenecid

It is primarily used to treat gout and hyperuricemia, it increases uric acid excretion in the urine. This injection alters the action of probenecid.

Colitis

This medicine kills the good helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. This drug should be used caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis (swelling of the colon inner lining). It leads to worsening the patient’s health condition.

Seizures

Using this medicine is needs caution in patients with seizures. It causes hallucinations, anxiety, confusion, and restlessness, etc. Inform the doctor, they will do dose adjustment or replacement if needed. If necessary to take this medicine with seizure medications.

Hyperbilirubinemia:

The neonates and premature neonates who are having hyperbilirubinemia should not be treated with ceftriaxone injection because bilirubin binds with serum albumin and leads to an increase in the risk for developing bilirubin encephalopathy.

Gall bladder disease:

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with gallbladder disease, biliary tract diseases. Because the use of Ceftriaxone get precipitated in the gallbladder and cause abnormalities in sonographic and worsen the symptoms of gallbladder diseases
