Utamide 50mg Tablet contains Bicalutamide 50mg used to treat Prostate cancer by inhibiting the action of testosterone, a male sex hormone. It is not recommended in females, children, and adolescents.

It is used in the treatment of the following conditions as Prostate cancer

Prostate cancer

It is cancer that occurs in a man’s prostate. Usually, it grows slowly and is confined to the prostate gland. Symptoms include difficulty in urinating, blood in urine, semen, bone pain, weight loss, and erectile dysfunction. This medicine helps to inhibit the multiplication of cancer cells.

The Utamide 50mg Tablet is prescribed in the following indications as prostate cancer

Utamide 50mg Tablet contains Bicalutamide 50mg is an anti-cancer medication, an Antiandrogen. It produces its action by inhibiting androgen receptors and inhibits proliferation and metastasis of androgen dependant cancer. This binding process increases the amount of free testosterone which is present in blood and decreases Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in the blood when used with Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) medication. The decrease in proliferation increases apoptosis leading to a decrease in size and volume of androgen-dependent tumors.

Utamide 50mg Tablet contains Bicalutamide 50mg is an anti-cancer medication, an Antiandrogen. It produces its action by inhibiting androgen receptors thus decreasing the action of androgen on abnormal tumor cells. Thus, androgen-based tumors are prevented from proliferation and metastasis. • Can I stop using the Utamide 50mg Tablet immediately or do I have to slowly wean off the use?

Lonafarnib

It is contraindicated to use this medicine because the use of bicalutamide will increase the effect of lonafarnib by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism

Siponimod

Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine increases the immunosuppressive effects and it also increases the risk of developing an infection

Cannabidiol

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cannabidiol will increase the effect of Bicalutamide by decreasing its metabolism.

Alfentanil

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Bicalutamide will decrease the effect of alfentanil by affecting its hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

Hepatic impairment

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with moderate to mild hepatic dysfunction because the use of this medicine metabolized by the liver and the metabolism may get altered and delayed in this patient.

Take the medicine as directed by the doctor don’t overdose on the medicine. If you have taken an overdose of this medicine immediately meet the doctor and rush to the nearby hospital.

It is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t take the extra dose take the regular dose immediately.
