    Valten Tablet contains Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg. Valten (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg) tablet is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-1 infection. Valten (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg) is a nucleoside analogue. Valten tablet acts on HIV reverse transcriptase thus interfere with their reproduction cycle.

    Mechanism of action of Valten 300mg Tablet

    Valten (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg) tablet is a nucleoside analogue that acts as a reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate present in Valten tablet is an analogue of adenosine 5-monophosphate which is converted to tenofovir after hydrolysis after which tenofovir inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. Tenofovir competes with AMP as a substrate and competes to incorporate themselves into the DNA strand thus stops the replication of viral particles.Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate present in Valten tablet is an analogue that is phosphorylated to its active forms lamivudine triphosphate that incorporated into the nucleotide and inhibits the action of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. Thus, the active HIV molecule becomes inactive and further reproduction and multiplication process is stopped.
