    Zedocef DXL Tablet contain Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200mg and Dicloxacillin 500mg used to treat bacterial infections such as Urinary Tract infection, Sinusitis, Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis, Bronchitis, Community-acquired pneumonia, Skin, and Soft tissue infection, and Gonorrhea. Mainly this medicine targets the lungs, urinary tract, ear, nasal sinus, throat, and skin. Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Dicloxacillin is an antibiotic that helps to fight against bacteria. The combination of this medicine fight against the bacteria and also helps to prevent the growth of microbes which is responsible for infections. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections. Swallow the whole tablet at once. Don’t break, chew, or crush the tablet

    How to Take Zedocef DXL Tablet

    Drug Interaction of Zedocef DXL Tablet

    Drug-Drug Interaction

    BCG vaccine live

    The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of Cefpodoxime decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Argatroban

    Use alternative drugs because the use of cefpodoxime will increase the effect of argatroban by anticoagulation

    Aluminum hydroxide

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of aluminum hydroxide will decrease the effect of cefpodoxime by increasing its gastric pH.

    Doxycycline

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Doxycycline decreases the effect of Cefpodoxime by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Demeclocycline

    Use alternative drugs because the use of demeclocycline decreases the effect of amoxicillin by pharmacodynamic antagonism

    Mycophenolate

    Use alternative drugs because the use of amoxicillin will decrease the effect of mycophenolate by other

    Acyclovir

    Renal dysfunction:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment because the use of this drug may cause hepatitis and it also increases the SGOT, SGPT, and alkaline phosphatase level

    Seizure disorders:

    Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who have a history of epilepsy because the use of this drug may stimulate seizure and it also cause encephalopathy, coma, asterixis, neuromuscular excitability, and myoclonia
    Diabetes:

    The use of this drug may produce false-positive reactions when you are testing for glucose levels in your urine. So, it is recommended to do the glucose test by the enzymatic glucose oxidase reaction

    Renal dysfunction:

    The serum concentration of beta-lactam antibiotics increases the half-life in a patient with impaired renal functions. Depending upon your renal function dose should be adjusted

    Hemodialysis:

    During Hemodialysis penicillin antibiotics get removed from the body. So doses should be rescheduled after the dialysis process

    Mononucleosis:

    Amoxicillin should not be used in patients with mononucleosis because they develop pruritic erythematous maculopapular skin rash which occurs after 5-10 days of therapy
