Zocef CV Dry Syrup contains Cefuroxime Axetil 125mg Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg used to treat bacterial infections such as Urinary tract infection, Sinusitis, Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis, Lower respiratory tract infections, Otitis media, Skin and soft tissue infections, Bacterial septicemia, Gonorrhea, and Lyme disease in children. Mainly this medicine targets the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and skin structures, blood, bones, joints, and urinary tract infections and is also used to prevent the infections that occur during surgery. Cefuroxime Axetil 125mg Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg is an antibiotic that helps to fight against bacteria. This medicine is not used for common flu and cold symptoms that occur due to viral infections. This medicine is commonly prescribed for cough and colds caused by bacterial infections.

Drug-Drug Interaction

BCG vaccine live + Cefuroxime

The use of this drug is contraindicated because the use of Cefuroxime decreases the effect of the BCG vaccine live by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Argatroban + Cefuroxime

Use alternative drugs because the use of Cefuroxime will increase the effect of argatroban by anticoagulation

Aluminum hydroxide + Cefuroxime

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of aluminum hydroxide will decrease the effect of Cefuroxime by increasing its gastric pH.

Doxycycline + Cefuroxime

Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of Doxycycline decreases the effect of Cefuroxime by pharmacodynamic antagonism

Renal dysfunction

Therapy should be administered with caution because the serum concentration of the antibiotics and their metabolites may be increased and the half-lives of these drugs prolonged in patients with impaired renal function. You have to adjust the dose based on the severity of the infection.

Liver diseases

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with hepatic impairment because the use of this drug may cause hepatitis and it also increases the SGOT, SGPT, and alkaline phosphatase level

Seizure disorders

Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who have a history of epilepsy because the use of this drug may stimulate seizure and it also cause encephalopathy, coma, asterixis, neuromuscular excitability, and myoclonia
